Sony D2403 revealed through benchmark
Sony has a new low(ish)-end smartphone in the works, it appears. Right now we know it only by its model number, which is the uninspiring D2403. This detail has been leaked about it alongside its most important specs because someone put it through the paces of GFXBench.
Hence, we now know what to expect. The Sony D2403 has a 4.4-inch 540×960 touchscreen, an 8 MP rear camera with 1080p Full HD video recording capabilities and a LED flash, a 0.3 MP front camera with VGA video, a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor (with ARM Cortex-A7 cores), 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and NFC. It runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
All in all, this looks like it’s going to be a competitor to the Moto G. It probably comes with the exact same chipset, though one-ups that in the rear camera department. On the other hand, the Moto G has a slightly bigger and higher-res display.
Ultimately though, the most important thing about the Sony D2403 will be how much it will cost. If it’s adequately priced, it may be a worthy contender for the Moto G. Otherwise, only those who love the Sony brand will consider it.
