Vodafone Smart Tab 4 launched in the UK

Vodafone has added a new own-brand tablet to its roster in the UK today. The Vodafone Smart Tab 4 apparently comes to succeed the Smart Tab III tablets from last year.

This time around, though, there aren’t two different sizes offered. The Smart Tab 4 is a single SKU, and it’s an 8-incher. The tablet comes with a 1,280×800 screen, a 2 MP rear camera, a 0.3 MP front camera, a 1.6 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8382 processor (with ARM Cortex-A7 cores), 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of built-in storage, microSD card support, HSPA+, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and a 4,060 mAh battery. It runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Its dimensions are 209×122.8×7.99 mm, and it weighs 328 grams.

The Smart Tab 4 is available to order right now from Vodafone’s website. It can be had for £29, if you sign up for a 24-month plan that costs at least £20 per month. With that option, you’d get 2 GB of data every 30 days. If you want double that, you’ll have to shell out £5 per month extra. Finally, the most expensive plan is £30 per month and offers you 10 GB of data. On the other hand, you can go lower, as there’s a £16 per month option as well (with 1 GB of traffic included), but this will require you to pony up £79 for the tablet upfront.
