HTC M8 Ace gets certified in China, finally shows its face
We’ve already seen the back of the upcoming HTC M8 Ace, but so far its front has been a mystery. We obviously assumed that the design language would be similar to that of the HTC One M8, and it is. Though the Ace has much more obvious speaker grills above and below its screen.
The images showing the M8 Ace are courtesy of TENAA, the Chinese authority that certifies mobile devices for sale in that country. Its reports usually come with rather detailed specs, but in this case all we found out is that the M8 Ace will have a 4.7-inch touchscreen, and not a 5″ unit as has been rumored before. That said, we may still be looking at a 1080p Full HD panel, akin to the one used on last year’s HTC One.
The pictures from TENAA usually look quite weird, that’s not something specific to this case. And rest assured that handsets always look better in real life than they do in the Chinese authority’s shots, for whatever reason.
In case you forgot, the HTC M8 Ace is supposed to be the Taiwanese company’s secret weapon in the battle against the Samsung Galaxy S5. Like that handset, it will be made out of plastic, and it will match most of the S5’s specs while being offered for less money. The M8 Ace may be launching on June 3, at least in China.
