HTC M8 Ace pictured again, full specs leaked and June 3 launch date seemingly confirmed
HTC’s ‘plastic flagship’, the handset codenamed M8 Ace, is almost here it seems. The device is going to be launched on June 3, we heard last week. And today the latest rumor on the matter says the same thing. The date is valid for China, we don’t know if it’s going to be a global unveiling or not. At least not yet.
The HTC M8 Ace has also been pictured yet again, as you can see below. This image shows us a front fascia that’s incredibly similar to that of the metal-made One M8, which is different from what we’ve seen a few days ago when the M8 Ace got certified for sale by the relevant Chinese authority (TENAA). That said, TENAA’s pictures are notoriously odd-looking, so perhaps the phone will actually end up having the design that leaked today.
Its back has just one camera and just one LED flash, as opposed to the One M8’s Duo Camera setup with dual-tone LEDs. Despite this looking like a downgrade at first, it might actually entice more people to buy the M8 Ace, since the UltraPixel resolution of the One M8’s camera has its detractors.
Along with the image above, the HTC M8 Ace has had its full specs leaked one more time, so let’s recap them for you. It will come with a 5-inch 1080p Full HD touchscreen, a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash, a 5 MP front camera, a 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2 GB of RAM, 16 or 32 GB of internal storage, microSD card support, and a 2,600 mAh battery. It will run Android 4.4 KitKat with HTC Sense 6.
Interestingly, the handset that got certified in China recently and which we thought was the M8 Ace has a 4.7-inch screen apparently, so these may after all be two different variations of the same thing. Or two separate devices, we’ll have to wait and see.
