Alcatel One Touch Pop 7 out at T-Mobile on June 18, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition is cheaper

T-Mobile is doing a couple of things to its tablet roster, which will supposedly make the thought of purchasing a tablet from a carrier more palatable to people. First off, the magenta carrier is announcing a $100 price cut for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition. This goes in effect today, but will only be valid until June 15.

This means you can now get the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition for $0 down followed by 24 monthly payments of $25, adding up to a total cost of $600. Although T-Mobile says that’s $99.99 less than the previously advertised price, the math doesn’t quite add up. When it started pre-orders for this tablet, the carrier was asking for $99.99 down and $23 per month for two years. That adds up to $651.99, and not $699.99. So you may only be saving $51.99, but that’s something nevertheless.

There’s another tablet coming to T-Mobile soon, and it’s the Alcatel One Touch Pop 7 (pictured above). This was first unveiled at CES in January, and it’s a rather low-end offering. That said, at least it’s going to be reasonably cheap. It will be out at the ‘uncarrier ‘on June 18, and you’ll need to pay nothing upfront and 24 monthly payments of $7 for it, which makes for a grand total of $168.

The Alcatel One Touch Pop 7 has a 7-inch 1,024×600 touchscreen, a 1.3 GHz dual-core MediaTek MT8312 processor, 1 GB of RAM, a 2 MP rear camera, a 0.3 MP front camera, 4 GB of internal storage, microSD expansion, an IR blaster, Wi-Fi, GPS, and 3G. It runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
