Gresso Cruiser Air Black costs $1,700, runs S40

Do you have $1,700 just lying around? No idea what to spend it all on? Well, here’s one. You could be one of the just 555 owners of a Gresso Cruiser Air Black. Conveniently, it’s priced at exactly that amount. You can order one now, and it will be delivered to you in August. So what makes this phone worth all that cash? Well, certainly not its specs. It runs S40, Nokia’s mobile operating system for low-end phones. It has a 2-inch 240×320 display. Not a touchscreen. Oh, and a 2 MP camera. 2G support only. 30 MB of built-in storage space, expandable via microSD cards. Keeping you going will be an 860 mAh battery. But all that hardware is clad in a one-piece aluminum alloy construction, with buttons made of matte steel. The aluminum is hand polished by a single craftsperson for hours, then anodized. The front and back of the phone consist of glossy black tempered glass panels. If you’re interested in getting a Gresso Cruiser Air Black, head over here to place an order. Via...

iOS Gmail App coming soon

We have some exciting news for iOS users. Rumor has it that an official Gmail app is very close to coming to the iOS platform. Apparently, the app has already been fully developed and submitted to Apple for review for the App Store. Current iOS users were forced to access their Gmail through a third party app or through the web-based view, but they didn’t have access to the best new feature of the iOS Gmail app, push notifications. We saw a leaked video earlier in October that detailed many of the new features of the Gmail iOS app. These features included increased search functionality, contact icons, improved threads, and other small tweaks. Unfortunately, we don’t have any info on a release date yet since the app hasn’t been officially announced, but you can probably expect it to become available in the comings weeks if it has already been submitted for approval. We will keep you updated on the status of the iOS Gmail app....

Gresso Lady Gold and Ultramarine Gold phones launched

Two months after unveiling the Lady Diamond collection, the Russia-based company Gresso has now launched two new luxury handsets: Gresso Ultramarine Gold and Gresso Lady Gold. The Gresso Ultramarine Gold comes in a blue case, representing “strength and serenity”, while the Lady Gold has a “brilliant red color”, being an “ode to femininity, to elegance and to beauty” – Gresso’s words, not ours.     Except for their color, the phones don’t differ too much, being built out of materials like titanium, high-tech ceramics and 18K gold.   When it comes to features, the new handsets are similar to the old Gresso ones, offering Windows Mobile 6.0 Standard, Bluetooth, GSM/GPRS connectivity and 2GB of internal memory.   The Lady Gold and Ultramarine Gold phones are cheaper than the Lady Diamond: only €4,800 ($6,525) a piece. $5,500 Gresso Lady Diamond phone announced

It sure didn’t take long for Gresso to come up with yet another new luxury phone. After the Skeleton Gold, the Russian company has now launched the Gresso Lady Diamond, a handset obviously designed for the ladies. More exactly, for ladies who can afford to pay $5,500 on a phone, because that’s the price of a Gresso Lady Diamond. The phone comes in a very limited edition: only 8 units are made. And while I do find it good-looking, I can’t help thinking that it’s way too expensive. Of course, its high price is somehow justified by the materials the device is built from, including “high-tech ceramic of Magenta Diamond color”, 18K gold, 4 white diamonds (on the navigation keys) and genuine leather. On the back of the phone, we can see the transparent sapphire crystal cover, which has become a trademark for Gresso devices.    When it comes to technical specs, the handset offers Windows Mobile 6 Standard, GSM/GPRS connectivity, Bluetooth, Music player, a 2MP camera and 2GB of onboard memory. The Gresso Lady Diamond is available starting today, but it looks like you can only get it from Russia. Via...

GResso luxury phone with Black Diamonds

Luxury cellphone maker Gresso keeps churning out more and more expensive handsets. With their first models they were content with African Blackwood and some golden plating on the back. Then came Gresso Avantgarde Sol collection, with the keypad keys made from gold. But there ain’t no luxury handset out there, that can be made exclusive and expensive enough for a proper millionaire. Still Gresso seems to try real hard. This this time they decided to replace golden keys with diamonds. And no ordinary diamonds, but extremely rare and expensive black diamonds to boot. Their first attempt Gresso Avantgarde Black Diamonds phone (on the right) is a valid try. For just a 9000 Euro you get your African Blackwood phone with golden keypad and four navigation keys replaced wit black diamonds. But it’s really nothing special, I say. If you want to be a real show-off, you should opt for Gresso Avantgarde Royal Black Diamonds edition. In this phone all your keypad keys will be made from black diamonds of 2.53K. And, because these gems are rare enough, only 50 pieces of this Royal handset will be made ever. So what’s 30 000 Euro for the piece of exclusivity only 50 people in the world can have?...
