Called Vertu Constellation T, the new handset is presented by the Bluetooth SIG as “the epitome of luxury elegance in a mobile smartphone.”

Surprisingly – since most luxury phones are more about being luxurious than offering nice specs – the Constellation T packs a pretty solid set of features: 3.5 inch nHD (360 x 640) AMOLED display, penta-band 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, 8MP EDOF camera with dual LED flash, and 32GB of internal memory. The handset runs an unspecified version of Symbian.

Since Vertu hasn’t officially announced the Constellation T yet, we don’t know when it’s going to be released, and neither for what price. But just don’t hope that you’ll be able to get it for under $1,000, because it’s not going to happen.

The Grand Touch has a case “precision CNC machined from solid aircraft aluminum”, while the Grand Touch GCB is made out of brass, and plated with gold. Other than that (and the resulting different colors), the devices are identical. Their features include:

Mobiado doesn’t mention the handsets’ OS in the press release announcing them. However, the company has confirmed to us via e-mail that the devices run Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Update: it seems that under the expensive hood which bears the Mobiado brand there’s actually a Google Nexus S. But… does Google really allow this?

Meet the iPhone 4 Time Machine, which should be available sometime later this year. The name has nothing to do with Apple’s homonymous backup utility, and neither with H.G. Wells’ time machine. Gresso named its luxury iPhone like that because it has 6 independent Swiss watches integrated into the back panel.

The watches, which are diamond-coated, show the local time in six of the world’s most important cities: New York, London, Paris, Moscow, Hong Kong, and Tokyo.

According top Gresso, the iPhone 4 Time Machine is “designed specifically for people living in the rhythm of world time” (whatever that means). The company failed to mention that those people also need to be rich – because the iPhone 4 Time Machine costs $6,000. Well, at least it’s cheaper than the Black Diamond iPhone.

The Oro is nothing more than a luxury edition of the Nokia C7, so it has the same features: 3.5 inch AMOLED display, HSPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, 8MP camera, 8GB of on-board memory, and so on. It is coated with scratch-resistant 18-carat gold, its battery cover is encased in leather, and its home button is made out of real sapphire crystal.

There are two version of the Oro: Nokia Oro Dark and Nokia Oro Light.

Nokia plans to sell the Oro starting Q3 in select European markets (including Russia), the Middle East, and China. The handset is targeted at users who are looking for “products with a build quality and superior materials that attest to their success and social standing.” Yes, that means rich people.

Nokia says the Oro will cost at least €800 (about $1,250). Until the smartphone hits the market, here’s a video preview of it:

Yes, you’ve guessed it: Mobiado will make Aston Martin luxury phones.

There are no details on the phones themselves, but we know that they should be available starting May this year “through a range of premium outlets.”

Until then, Mobiado and Aston Martin have presented a concept phone called CPT002. The CPT002 would feature a “solid sapphire crystal, see-through capacitive touch screen”, and would be used “as a key to your Aston Martin vehicle.”

Of course, the Mobiado Aston Martin CPT002 will probably never become a real device. Or at least not in the foreseeable future.

Called TAG Heuer Fuchsia MERIDIIST GMT, the new handset comes with a back cover dressed in Acrochordus arafurae skin.

In case you don’t know (I didn’t until a few minutes ago), the acrochordus arafurae is a water snake from New Guinea and northern Australia.

Other than that, the phone is identical to the original Tag Heuer model, featuring a QVGA sapphire crystal main display, a secondary OLED screen, and a 2MP camera.

The Fuchsia MERIDIIST doesn’t appear at Tag Heuer’s official website yet – that’s probably because it will be available only starting next year (for an unknown but certainly high price).

Meaning “wood-grain metal” in Japanese, Mokume Gane is a technique of “bonding mixed-metal” invented in Japan in the 17th century and initially used for sword fittings.

The phone’s Mokume Gane frame includes a mix of nickel silver, copper and brass, which is “stacked and wrapped in steel foil”. Other materials used in the handset’s body: sapphire crystal, stainless steel, and 24k / 18k gold.

Like all the other Mobiado phones, the Classic 712MG Mokume Gane is unlocked and features 3G, a 2.2 inch QVGA display, GPS, email, web browser, music player, and a 5MP camera. You can find out more about it at Mobiado’s website (the price is not unveiled, though).

The new phone is made out of aluminum and large sapphire crystal plates, and each unit is “assembled using gun-metal black stainless steel screws.” Customers can choose to have their keypad in English, Arabic, or Cyrillic.

Feature-wise, the handset offers quad-band GSM and tri-band WCDMA (900 / 1900 / 2100 MHz) connectivity, GPS, 2.2 inch QVGA screen, email, web browser, music player, and 5MP autofocus camera with flash.

The handset’s frame is “precision CNC machined from Damascus steel”, this giving every phone a “different and unique” look.

Damascus steel, as Mobiado is happy to inform us, is “a technique of hot-forging steel, originally used in 1100 to 1700 AD to create sword blades renowned for their sharpness and strength”

The phone’s buttons and screws are also made out of steel, while the front and back plates are made out of sapphire crystal.

As for features, the Professional 105 Damascus comes with 3G (850 / 2100 MHz), 2 inch display, music player, Bluetooth, microUSB, 2MP camera, and 1GB of internal memory.

The FCC posted the handset’s Users Manual, which confirms that, as we assumed, the Constellation Quest runs Symbian – although it seems to be a slightly customized version of it.

Other known features of the Quest include: Wi-Fi, Ovi Maps, 3.5mm headset jack, various Vertu services, photo camera with dual LED flash and video recording, and a 32GB MicroSD card pre-installed.

The luxury handset comes with quad-band GSM and quad-band WCDMA (800 / 850 / 1900 / 2100) connectivity, so it can be used in Europe, North America and Japan.

Depending on the materials you want Vertu to use for it, the Constellation Quest costs between £5,000 and £17,300 ($7,910 – $27,380). Well, at least it’s not $8 million.

The launch party (held in London, UK) gathered lots of stars, including Vertu Brand Ambassador Seal, Kevin Spacey and Holly Valance.

Unfortunately, Vertu doesn’t say much about the Constellation Quest. We know that it has a full QWERTY keyboard, an “uncluttered” homescreen, an analogue clock (“which automatically adjusts to the user’s location”), and a new service called vertu.me – which can sync and back-up your data.

Since the Quest is a non-touch smartphone and Vertu is Nokia’s “luxury division”‘, the handset is likely running Symbian S60 3rd Edition.

Vertu has yet to announce when and for what price the Constellation Quest will be available. However, you can register your interest here at the company’s official website.

In a press release that would make any Engrish speaker proud, luxury phone maker Gresso has announced its latest creation: the Luxor World Time – which, as you’ve surely noticed by now, comes with a “world time function.”

More exactly, the phone features six independent “Swiss clockwork mechanisms” embedded on the back. Five of these show the current time in “the five main world business centers”: New Work, London, Paris, Tokyo and Moscow. The sixth watch can be set to whatever time the owner of the phone wants.

(nevermind what the photos show, the local time in Paris is never the same as the local time in New York)

Made out of “superlight titanium alloy”, high-tech ceramics and sapphire crystal, the Gresso Luxor World Time looks a lot like the $1 million Gresso Luxor Las Vegas Jackpot launched this summer.

The Tag Heuer Meridiist Black Diamond is PVD-coated and is made out of 316L stainless steel, 18-carat pink gold, lizard leather, and 1.34-carat diamonds.

The Tag Heuer Meridiist Stainless steel & Rose Gold is also dressed in 18-carat pink gold, stainless steel and leather (alligator), but it doesn’t have diamonds.

The Meridiist Python Gold Dust brings back the diamonds (1.3 carats) and mixes them with gold, East African green garnet, and python leather.

Like the older models, all new Meridiist phones come with 1.9 inch QVGA sapphire crystal displays, secondary OLED displays at the top, 2MP cameras and 2GB of internal memory.

The new handset is “the evolution” in Mobiado’s wood series, being made out of exotic wood, sapphire crystal and aluminum. The exotic wood pieces (which are “inlayed into an anodized aluminum frame and connected to a solid wood top, to create a dramatic flowing effect”) remind me of kitchen tables rather than of something rare or dramatic, but anyway.

The Versace Unique is hand-assembled in France and it’s made out of materials like high-tech ceramic, stainless steel, leather and 18K yellow gold. The touchscreen display (of unknown resolution) is made out of sapphire crystal and it’s “impossible to scratch”.

Manufactured in collaboration with LG, the new luxury phone features 3G, email, Dolby Mobile surround sound, media player, and 5MP camera with flash.

If the purple version of the handset looks horrible to you (as it looks to me), you should know that an all-black version might be in the making, too. The Versace Unique will be available starting early June. Its price was not announced, but don’t expect it to be under $1,000 – that’s the price to pay if you want to be unique (yeah right, as if an uber-expensive phone can really change what  you are).

The Ascent X was recently approved by the FCC, and today we even have two photos of it, as well as some of its specs.

Apparently, the new phone features a 2 inch QVGA display, A-GPS, email, Bluetooth, 5MP autofocus camera with LED flash (that’s a first for a Vertu handset), and 32GB of internal memory.

The Vertu Ascent X has quad-band GSM (850/ 900/ 1800/ 1900 MHz) and quad-band UMTS/HSUPA (800 / 850 / 1900 / 2100 MHz) connectivity, so it can be used almost anywhere in the world.

The exact release date and price of Vertu Ascent X are not known yet.

On the inside, it can be to contain what any other mobile phone might have. The stuff necessary for it to function as a mobile phone. But on the outside, it’s a different story. It’s a very, very different story.

Mobiado has put the sophistication and luxury that the CPT001 concept phone represents in words, saying:

Mobiado is consistently guided by a philosophy of doing things differently, and this principle has now given rise to the CPT001 concept phone. Staying on the cutting edge of design required the freedom to push the limits of what a luxury phone can be. The CPT001 is made from one piece of solid marble with gold filled engraved letters and details. The touch screen is made from a single large piece of sapphire. The buttons and watch crown are made from solid gold, with a magnificent gold skeleton mechanical watch movement placed between the Call and End buttons.

The company offers no clue as to when such a phone will come to the market. I can think of at least two things that will be sure, though: it will be quite heavy, as well as expensive.

The limited edtinion handset is available in four versions (Vertu Kinko, Vertu Kikusui, Vertu Nanten and Vertu Daigo) representing the four seasons. Each model has been hand-painted and dressed in gold, and while the textures on them look good, the overall aspect of the phones isn’t quite attractive.

Reportedly, there will only be four units of the new Vertu phone made, each costing 20 million yen (about $215,800).

Buyers of the $215K Vertu handsets will also be able to make free domestic calls (in Japan), but I don’t think anyone who has that much money to spend on a phone really cares about that.

As far as I know, this will be the world’s first luxury smartphone to run Google’s OS.

Manufactured by Swiss watch maker Ulysse Nardin in collaboration with SCI Innovations, the Ulysse Nardin Chairman has five color versions and integrates a Ulysse Nardin Rotor kinetic power system that can generate additional electrical power for the battery (which can provide up to 8 hours of talk time, or up to 30 days of stand-by time).

Ulysse Nardin has also updated the Chairman’s features (which are now better than the ones presented last year): 3.2 capacitive touchscreen display, fingerprint recognition, 3G, “extensive gaming ability”, preloaded Facebook app, 8MP camera, HD video playback, 32GB of internal memory, and an ARM-based Freescale i.MX processor.

Interested customers can pre-order the Ulysse Nardin Chairman smartphone as of now here. According to this PDF file, the phone will have prices ranging from $12,800 to $49,500, depending on the model you choose.

The company says there are “almost 40 combinations available” – customers can choose the case model, keyboard design, and the type of leather decoration (including Cayman leather). Moreover, a personalized text can be engraved on your phone.

Unlike Mobiado, Gresso mentions its phones’ prices. You can customize a Gresso handset starting today for as low as $2,200 – go to Gresso’s Online Boutique to begin. After you personalize the phone (and pay for it), Gresso manufactures it somewhere in Switzerland and sends it to you within 14 days.

Gresso has also announced that it’s opening its first US office on March 18 in Miami, so “residents of the US Southeastern coast will soon be able to enjoy its services.”

We’re not sure if this version of the Diva S7070 has real gold on it (which would make it quite expensive), but the phone doesn’t look bad in the new color.

Together with the Diva S5150, the Diva S7070 is part of Samsung’s new line-up of phones especially designed for women. The S7070 features a 2.8 inch QVGA touchscreen display with 16 million colors, TouchWiz UI, accelerometer, social networking integration, 3.2MP camera, and a fancy back cover.

The Samsung Diva S7070 Luxury Gold should be offered with a “trendy handbag holder” in the box, although there’s no word yet on when or where it will be launched.

Well, it looks like the world’s first luxury iPad will be available starting June 1. It’s made by Mervis and it’s covered in “11.43 carats of diamonds” that are “graded G/H in color and VS2/SI1 in clarity.”

The diamond iPad will be available in limited quantities. It costs $19,999 and, if you’re interested, you can pre-order it here.

As for the regular version of the iPad, Apple will launch it on April 3 in the US, for prices starting at $499 (the 16GB version with Wi-Fi and no 3G).

According to Brainstorm Tech, about 152,000 iPads have already been pre-ordered (since March 12, when Apple started to take pre-orders).

The Classic 712GCB is not too different form the Classic 712ZAF, so it’s a candybar with a 2.2 inch QVGA display, 3G, GPS, web browser, music player and a 5MP camera with flash.

The Mobiado Classic 712GCB is built from stainless steel, “large sapphire crystal plates” and 24K gold. The phone’s keys are also made out of sapphire crystal hand-painted with gold.

Mobiado didn’t announce the price of Classic 712GCB. However, interested customers can check out this list of Mobiado distributors to find out if there are any of them in their region.

Take the Nokia N97 mini Gold Edition for example, which has been unveiled today.

The N97 mini Gold Edition is dressed in 18-carat gold and comes with apps like “ELLE 360Fashion”, which should help fashion lovers follow the latest trends and news.

Other than that, the Nokia N97 mini Gold Edition has the same features the regular edition includes: 3.2 inch touchscreen display with 360 x 640 pixels, full QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi, HSPA, GPS, Nokia Maps, 3.5mm headset jack, 8GB of internal memory, and a 5MP camera with autofocus and LED flash.

Nokia N97 mini Gold Edition will be available across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa. We don’t know when, but we do know the phone’s price: about €625 or $850.

Building on the heritage of the Mobiado Luminoso series, the Classic 712ZAF is a candybar “crafted with a strong and vivid visual identity” – well, at least that’s what Mobiado says.

The new luxury phone is made out of aluminum, stainless steel, sapphire crystal and ceramic coating. The Mobiado logo is “CNC machine engraved” on the back of the phone.

The Classic 712ZAF features quad-band GSM/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900) and tri-band WCDMA (900/1900/2100) connectivity, 2.2 inch QVGA display, A-GPS, “2 microphones for uplink noise cancellation”, email, web browser, music player, 5MP camera with LED flash, and the ability to “mute and reject calls by double tapping the phone.”

Mobiado Classic 712ZAF will be available in six color versions: Black, Black Satin, Silver, Grey, Blue and Red. The phone’s price was not announced.

The first Versace phone will be showcased in Paris this month, although it won’t be available until spring this year.

There aren’t many technical details about the upcoming Versace mobile phone, but ModeLabs says it will be built out of exclusive materials and mix the “latest mobile phone technology” with the “glamour, elegance and originality” specific to the Versace brand.

The price of ModeLabs’ Versace luxury phone was not announced – but I guess it can’t be higher than the price of the diamond-clad Nokia Supreme (about $160,000).

In addition to Versace luxury handsets, ModeLabs may also launch LaCoste phones this year.

The Nokia Supreme is made out of select materials like platinum (83 grams) and it’s encrusted with roughly 1225 pink diamonds – including a “3ct single cut flawless center diamond”. The handset is housed in a chest made from granite and leather.

There will be only 3 (three) Nokia Supreme phones manufactured, each fabulously priced at £99,995.00 – about €111,940 or $159,772. I don’t think there’s any other Nokia phone out there to cost more.

So, if you have £100,000 and don’t know what to do with it, and you really need a pink-diamonded slider phone, Goldstriker’s Nokia Supreme can be bought here.

The new Finest Woods Bellperre phones weigh 120 grams and measure 100 x 44 x 15,3 mm each, and can be customized with hand-polished Steel, Yellow Gold, Rosé Gold or Platinum. 110 types of genuine exotic leathers can be added (shark, lizard, alligator or buffalo). Moreover, Bellperre can add “diamonds and gemstones or initials, logos or personal messages on request.”

Feature-wise, the Bellperre phones offer tri-band GSM connectivity 900/1800/1900, a 2 inch Sapphire Crystal scratch-resistant display, stereo Bluetooth, email and a version of Windows Mobile.

Bellperre says that its phones are handmade in Holland. No word on the price of the new luxury handsets, but interested customers should try and contact the manufacturer via its official website.

Like the other 105GMT models, these new phones from Mobiado incorporate Swiss gold-plated dual mechanical watches that feature 25 jeweled bearings.

The 105GMT Stealth is made from aluminum, sapphire crystal and stainless steel, while the 105GMT Antique adds rose gold and Cocobolo hardwood to all that.

The phones’ specs include: quad-band GSM and dual-band WCDMA connectivity (850/2100 MHz), 2 inch QVGA display with 16 million colors, Bluetooth, Music player, 2MP camera and 1GB of internal memory.

No word yet on the price of Mobiado Professional 105GMT Stealth and 105GMT Antique, but it’s surely a high one.

As the name suggests, the new handset is made in collaboration with Lamborghini and it’s actually a special edition of the MERIDIIST phone announced last year.

The new handset is “housed in black titanium carbide coated 316L stainless steel” and features a Lamborghini signature on the battery cover, similar to the one on the Lamborghini Murcielago LP 640’s V12 engine block.

Built by ModeLabs, the TAG Heuer MERIDIIST Automobili Lamborghini also features a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal display, 2MP camera, 2GB of internal memory and a battery that can last up to7 hours in talk time mode, or up to 28 days in standby.

Only 1963 units of the MERIDIIST Lamborghini phone will be made – as tribute to the year Lamborghini was founded. Customers will be able to buy the handset from select TAG Heuer and Lamborghini retail locations. You can check out the phone on TAG Heuer’s official website.

In case you don’t know yet, the Ayxta comes with features never seen in a Vertu phone before: it has two displays (QVGA internal and 128 x 160 pixels external), GPS and HSDPA connectivity.

Other features include a 3MP camera, MicroSD card support and a case made from stainless steel, leather and gold (in some versions).

Appeared over at Mobile-review, the phone’s video preview is in Russian, but the UI’s language is set on English, so you’ll have no problems in understanding what’s happening there:

The Vertu Ayxta costs between €4,900 and €6,500 and it should be available now.

Two of the upcoming phones should be gold plated, black PVD coated and encrusted with sapphire crystals; they’ll cost $6,500 each.

Other two phones – a red one called Zelie and a white one called Zenaide – will be encrusted with diamonds. They should be priced at $7,900 and $13,400 respectively.

Finally, there will also be a Christian Dior Naicre phone, coming with a mother-of-pearl casing and costing $8,700.

The new Christian Dior phones should be available for purchase in December this year.

The company says that the Grand 350 Pioneer pays homage to NASA – more exactly, to its Pioneer 10 spacecraft. Launched 37 years ago, Pioneer 10 is the first spacecraft to travel through the Solar System’s asteroid belt and is currently heading in the direction of Aldebaran (aka Alpha Tauri), the brightest star in the constellation Taurus.

There will be only 37 Mobiado Grand 350 Pioneer phones, each having its limited edition number engraved on the right side, and the Pioneer 10’s date of launch (March 3, 1972) engraved on the left side.

What’s unique about the Mobiado Grand 350 Pioneer is that its battery cover is literally made out of materials from the Gibeon meteorite, discovered in Namibia in 1836. The meteorite is believed to come from asteroid belts near Mars and Jupiter; its composition is 90% iron and 8%nickel, plus small traces of phosphorus and cobalt.

The battery cover also features a variation of the Pioneer plaques (which were placed on board of Pioneer 10 in order to provide info about the human race in case the spacecraft is intercepted by extraterrestrial beings).

As for the technical features of Mobiado Grand 350 Pioneer, these include: quad-band GSM connectivity, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, QVGA display with 16 million colors, 3.2MP camera and a 2.5mm headset jack.

Mobiado didn’t say how much the Grand 350 Pioneer costs.

The B7620 is actually not just a phone, since it runs on Windows Mobile 6.5 – so it’s obviously a smartphone. The new Giorgio Armani handset from Samsung also features a full QWERTY keyboard, so it should be a good choice for those who want a fashionable device but also a completely-equipped smartphone.

Other features include: 3.5 inch WVGA AMOLED display, 5MP autofocus camera with, GPS and 8GB of internal memory.

Microsoft chief Steve Ballmer himself presented the new device, saying that it’s “the most fashionable phone he’s ever had a chance to talk about.”

Resembling the Samsung Armani W820/W8200 feature phone, the WM 6.5 Samsung Armani doesn’t seem to have a name yet. Anyway, apart from Windows Mobile 6.5, it features a 3.5 inch AMOLED touchscreen display, GPS, 5MP camera, 8GB of internal memory, MicroSD card slot, and a full QWERTY keyboard.

The Samsung Armani Windows phone will cost €700 ($1032), although its release date is not known at the moment. Until the handset hits the market, here’s a video promo of it:

The Sky DuPont is a full-touch candybar with golden accents, designed to remind users of the DuPont lighters’ look. The phone, which measures 106.8 x 50.8 x 11.15 mm and weighs 90 grams, actually opens up like a DuPont lighter to unveil a 3MP photo camera.

Other features include a 3 inch touchscreen display with 240 x 400 pixels, GPS, DMB TV, Music player, email and MicroSD card support.

The price of Pantech DuPont is of around $830 – it’s the most expensive Pantech phone made until now.

Since it’s form the Armani series, the Samsung W820/W8200 is a luxury phone. It has an alphanumeric keypad and a back cover that appears to be gold-plated.

The known features of the new Samsung Armani handset include: 3.1 inch WVGA touchscreen display, HSDPA connectivity, DMB TV, Bluetooth, 5MP camera, and MicroSD card support (up to 16GB).

No word yet if the Samsung Giorgio Armani W820/W8200 will be launched only in Korea, or if it will be available globally.

Like all phones made by Vertu, the Ayxta is made from expensive materials like stainless steel, ceramic, leather, sapphire crystal (for the display) and aerospace grade aluminum parts.

The new phone comes with GPS, 3G (HSDPA, apparently), MicroSD card support, 3MP camera with dual LED flash, and City Brief – a feature that provides “restaurant recommendations, the latest exhibitions, shopping guides and important cultural etiquette tips.” There are also some exclusive ringtones recorded by UK-based band Zero 7.

The Vertu Constellation F Ayxta should be on sale as of now, and you can see it on Vertu’s website.

However, the British luxury phone maker is getting ready to launch a clamshell too, called Vertu Constellation F and made from premium materials (including stainless steel, leather and – in some versions – gold).

Apart from having an unusual design, the Vertu Constellation F also has some features never seen before in a Vertu phone, like GPS and HSDPA/HSPA.

The handset also comes with: a 2.4 inch internal display with 320 x 480 pixels and 16 million colors, 1.36 inch external display with 128 x 160 pixels, 3MP camera with dual LED flash, 8GB of internal memory and quad-band GSM connectivity.

Vertu Constellation F should be available starting this autumn. The phone’s price is not known, but it will certainly be a high one.

The manufacturer is Pantech, South Korea’s third largest handset maker, and the new phone is Pantech Sky DuPont IM-U510LE.

The DuPont phone was announced today in Korea. Pantech says that its design is inspired by DuPont’s famous lighters.

The handset has gold-plated edges and it features a 3 inch touchscreen display, 2G-only connectivity, GPS and a 3MP camera. Other specs are not known at the moment.

Codenamed Nokia Erdos, the phone is, according to CellPassion, an “engineering masterpiece”.

Running on Symbian S60, the handset is made from a single piece of stainless steel.

Apparently, a piece of glass covers its display, hiding it when the phone is in stand-by, and becoming transparent when the screen is on. The phone also has a “rising keypad”, which matches the display’s level when you slide it.

The mains specs of Nokia Erdos include:

Inspired by F1 racing, the Gresso Grand Monaco phones are made from materials borrowed from the world of racing: “titanium superalloy”, high-tech ceramic and carbon. Other materials include steel and hand-polished 42 K sapphire crystal (framing the display).

The phones have flat keypads and feature stuff like: GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity, 2MP camera, Bluetooth, email and “an outstanding menu design”.

The Gresso Grand Monaco collection includes two models: “Metallic Ceramic Black Carbon” and “Metallic Ceramic Black Carbon”. They cost $2,100 each and can be ordered via Gresso’s official website.

The 65 Vertu luxury phones, stolen during an armed robbery in 2005, have been recovered, and Sandhu was sent to jail for 22 months.

The UK’s National Mobile Phone Crime Unit (NMPCU) further investigated Sandhu’s case and, after finding the stolen Vertus at the house of a friend of his, it also located the £1 million in an off-shore bank account.

Since the man couldn’t (or didn’t want to) justify the source of the money, the Isleworth Crown Court ordered him to repay all £999,713.21 to the Government.

The NMPCU says that this is the highest value confiscated in its five-year history.

The handset is built using an “ancient steel forging” technique that increases the metal’s hardness. Apparently, said technique was used throughout the centuries to make, for example, Samurai swords (katana) or Indian Wootz swords – which kinda explains the phone’s fierce look

The specs of Vertu Damascus Steel are probably similar to the ones found in all the Ascent Ti phones, so they should include: a QVGA display, S40 UI, GSM/UMTS connectivity, a 3.2MP camera with LED flash, and 4GB of internal memory.
