If all the info about the upcoming phones the Czech site Mobile.cz is bringing us, checks out next week, call me really impressed.

Just yesterday they’ve got us the goods on the first true Nokia N95 competitor – Samsung SGH-G810 phone.

Today they seem to have the pictures of the long rumored upcoming Motorola Z12 multimedia smartphone, that has been going under the Scarven nickname for a while now.

To tell the truth, the picture itself is not too clear.

But, while the phone on the left is clearly Z8 and the one in the middle is Moto Z10, the one to the right is different from them both. It also has the bigger display and touchscreen controls.

Earlier rumors already told us that Scarven Z12 will come in the same form factor as Z8 and Z10. So, I’m inclined to believe that this could really be Motorola ZiNe Z12 , running Symbian UIQ OS.

Previous rumors had it, that Z12 will have built-in GPS and Wi-Fi, 5 or 8 megapixel camera and 2.8″ 16M color VGA resolution touchscreen.

With yeasterdays Motorola PR teaser, that sounds about right.

Another N95 rival in the making?

Update: The picture above seems to have come from Mobile-Review forums. It appeared there shortly and was quickly removed.

From MRF and Dutch site GSM help desk (the guys who first brought us news about Scarven) I was able to piece some additional info on Motorola ZiNe Z12 :

MOTO Z12 ZiNE does not have a full touchscreen. Instead, the screen is divided into two parts, with the bottom part featuring a touch sensitive slip for phone controls. The kick-slider keypad is used for the other functions.

Yesterdays teaser was indeed about Z12, which will have a 16M color VGA resolution 2.8″ display, the quality of which goes well beyond anything we are used to in mobile handsets.

The phone will come with 5 megapixel camera and (maybe, but not likely) 3x optical zoom.

Motorola Z12 is not positioned as a camera phone, touting multimedia smarphone features instead.

There will be a stand alone camera phone presented as well. It’s a candybar with with 5 megapixel Kodak lenses, previously known under the codename X-Pixl.

That’s about it for now. I’ll keep you posted as the new info trickles in.
