If you are looking for a solid phone primarily for voice and light texting, the Motorola SLVR L7 can hardly be beat. It is a very good looking device, and has a very practical form factor that can fit most anywhere. It is the perfect phone for a night out on the town, thanks to its solid reception, good display, and very bright keypad backlighting. The Apple iTunes support also makes it a good daily commuter phone, as well.

What it doesn’t excel at, however, is taking photographs. The flashless VGA camera can do a decent job of shooting portraits in good lighting, but that is the most you can expect. Also, the keypad design does not lend itself to high speed text entry. If you are big into text messaging, but like the SLVR form factor, then the SLVR L2 might be up your alley since it has a much more conventional keypad.

With few real problems at all, the Motorola SLVR L7 is a very solid mobile phone. I used it personally for a few weeks and it performed very well. I give it a “Highly Recommended” rating.
