Nokia has announced 3 new low end clamshells for emerging markets. Two of them – Nokia 2660 and Nokia 2760 are dual band GSM (900/1800 or 850/1900) phones and one – Nokia 2505 is a CDMA handset.

Nokia 2660 (on the left above) is the cheapest of them, costs 85 EUR before subsidies and comes with following features:

Dual Band EGSM900/1800 and GSM850/1900 depending on the region
GPRS class 10, MMS
Bluetooth
Series 40 OS
128×160, 65K color cSTN display
96×68 black/blue external display
FM Radio
MP3 ringtones
Phone book with up to 500 contacts
Integrated hadsfree speaker
Up to 13 days standby and 7 hrs talk time
Dimensions: 87 x 44.8 x 20.7 mm (LxWxH)
Weight: 79,02g

However Nokia 2760 pictured above on the right looks like a much better deal. For additional 5 Euro (for a total of 90 EUR) you get all that Nokia 2660 has. And then you get a two times bigger phonebook and, even better, VGA camera with video recording capability!

Now to the CDMA clamshell. Since most CDMA phones come directly from Wireless Carriers and will probably be free with most of the plans, the selling point of Nokia 2505 CDMA clamshell is it’s design:

From the looks of it, Nokia 2505 is really sleek, has all the basic specs and a little more:

CDMA 800 MHz
128×160, 65K color cSTN display
FM Radio
MIDI 32 chord ringtones
Built-in flash light
Phone book with up to 300 contacts
Organizer with alarm and calendar
3 embedded games
Integrated hadsfree speaker
Up to 6.5 days standby and 3 hrs talk time
Dimensions: 82 x 42 x 16.65 mm (LxWxH)
Weight: 65 g

No camera here, but hey, it’s got a flashlight instead. And if you mainly care about talking and good looks, Nokia 2505 is a great choice.
