Nokia 6135i, Nokia 5500 sport and Nokia 7370 L’Amour approved by FCC

Last few days Nokia has been busy readying a number of it’s cellphones for American market and getting them approved by FCC.

First one is Nokia 6315i CDMA 1xEVDO clamshell phone with two LCD screens, built-in 1.3 megapixel camera, GPS, speaker phone and voice activated dialing. Nokia 6315i also has Bluetooth, USB port and is able to use Video on demand and Music on demand services, can play MP3 and video files. Judging from the pictures on FCC Nokia 6315i is customized for Verizon Wireless.

Announced just last week Nokia 5500 sports phone today has been also approved by FCC. In addition to the usual 2 megapixel camera, Mp3 player, micro MMC card slot and other things that a good cellphone has to have these days, Nokia 5500 sport is designed with the exercising user in mind. It has three different modes of operation -”phone”, “music” and “sports” that you can select with a press of a single button. “Phone” and “Music” modes are self explanatory so we won’t get into details, the most interesting here is the “Sport” mode. It uses built in pedometer that can be enhanced with optional Bluetooth GPS module and special software to monitor and record your exercise, track distances and speed. Nokia 5500 has stainless steel casing with splash and dust resistant shell and a neat “text to speech” function that will read you SMS messages aloud.

And the last one to be approved by FCC is Nokia N7370 fashion phone from Nokia L’mour collection. Nokia N7370 comes in distinct beautifully crafted golden and coffee brown color schemes that will set you apart in any cellphone chatting crowd. It has 1.3 megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom, MP3 ringtones, QVGA (320Ã—240) LCD screen, FM radio and two stereo loudspeakers for quality sound and 3D sound effects. The only shortcoming that Nokia 3730 has is it’s small memory – only 10MB built-in an no possibility for external memory card.

Today we got ordinary cellphones and we got camera phones, camcorder phones, music phones, fashion phones. It seems that we will even get a “perfume phone” and Feng Shui phone soon. And also a sport phone.

Today Nokia announced Nokia 5500 Sport phone for you exercise lovers. This cell phone works in 3 modes – phone, music and sports that can be selected through a single button. In a phone mode Nokia Sport 5500 functions as a normal tri band (GSM 900/1800/1900) cellphone for your communication needs. In a “music” mode Nokia 5500 becomes your portable music player that is able to store up to 750 GB of songs on optional 1GB microSD card. Nokia 5500 Sport phone also has integrated pedometer that is able to monitor the distance walked and calories burned during your exercising session.

Another interesting features of Nokia 5500 sport phone include “text-to speech” technology, that will read your SMS messages aloud so you can keep your eyes on the road while jogging. It has stainless steel casing with splash and dust resistant shell, manufactured with “latest materials used in high performance running shoes” for more flashy and sporty looks.

Nokia 5500 sport phone will appear on the market this summer and will cost 300 Euros before carrier subsidies
