Nokia E90 Communicator and Samsung U100 Ultra Edition 5.9 Approved by FCC

Although Europeans usually get their hands first on the latest and greatest cellphones from major brands, this time Nokia E90 Communicator and and Samsung U100 Ultra Edition 5.9 phones should be launched in the U.S. pretty soon too. At least that’s what FCC site tells us.

A flagship Nokia E90 communicator has been approved by FCC last Friday.

E90 is the first communicator to be included into the NokiaÂ ESeries business smartphone line-up and it comes stuffed with almost everything that Nokia could think off. Like QWERTY keyboard, big 800x320px internal screen, GPS navigation, 3.2 Mpx camera, WLAN and HSDPA connectivity, office productivity applications, VoIP and video calling, Intellysinc Mobile suite and many other cool things.

Nokia E90 is expected to go on sale in Q2 of this year and should cost somewhere around $1000 before subsidies.

Another 3GSM goodie to be approved by FCC is the “worlds thinnest phone”, Samsung U100 Ultra Edition 5.9. Samsung U100 is a triband (900/1800/1900) EDGE/GPRS phone that comes with 3 megapixel camera, multimedia player, Bluetooth connectivity and is only 5.9 mm thin.

It should go on sale also sometime in Q2 2007.

ESeries Nokia E90 Communicator is a business communication device that will compete with the likes of Samsung Ultra Smart F700 and Apple iPhone in the high end of the market.

And even though it does not have a fancy touchscreen user interfaces, Nokia E90 Communicator will stand tall at least among business users.

Full sized QWERTY keyboard, huge 800!x320 pixel resolution 16 million color screen, WLAN and HSDPA connectivity, POP3, IMAP, SMTP and push e-mail support, VoIP, videocalling, QuickOffice Tools and Editors, Nokia Office Tools with Intellicync mobile suite that come as a part of Nokia E90 communicator, will allow you accomplish many tasks previously reserved for the laptop. While 3.2 megapixel camera, FM radio and Media player should satisfy most of your entertainment needs. Nokia Communicator E90 also comes with built in GPS navigation and Nokia maps app.

And all of this in a pretty decently sized 132 x 57 x 20 mm, 140 cc package weighting 210 g.

Nokia E90 Communicator first pics surfaces

Engadget got some pictures of the rumored new Nokia E90 Communicator, to be launched during 3GSM next week:

And, according to ring Nokia it has some impressive things inside – like two fully functional screens, one of the with 800×320! px resolution, 3.2 mpx camera, built-in GPS and HSDPA support.

Except for touchscreen, Nokia E90 Communicator looks like a good rival to Samsung UltraSmart F700 to me.

Well, it shoud be announced next week during 3GSM, so we will know all the details soon.
