In April of last year Nokia introduced Nseries – a new category line of mobile phones/multimedia computers As the category description suggests Nseries devices are much more then a mobile phones. Depending on particular model, these multimedia computers come with the ability to shoot video and still pictures, print-quality images, watch TV, listen to music, and access the web and e-mail. Various Nseries multimedia computers also come equipped with various forms of non-cellular connectivity like WLAN, FM radio, Digital Video Broadcasting and Bluetooth.

So far Nokia has released or announced 6 different Nseries models – N70, N71, N80, N90, N91 and N92. Today we will look at first three of them.

Nokia N70 cameraphone is quite similar to the Sony Ericsson Cybershot handset line. It is a lower end Nseries cellphone and comes with 2 megapixel camera and 20x digital zoom. This candy bar shaped mobile phone easily transforms into a digital camera: in horizontal position your phone screen becomes a viewfinder and you can just point and shoot pictures with dedicated shutter key. Nokia XpressPrint software allows you to print directly from a phone via USB 2.0 or Bluetooth. Nokia N70 also comes with second VGA camera, built in FM radio and MP3 player and has a Hot Swap MMC card slot for your media storage.

Nokia N71 3G clamshell cell phone is direct competitor to lower end Sony Ericsson’s Walkman phones. This media centric mobile phone comes with dedicated music and video player, playlist support and specially assigned keys for easy music access. Nokia N71 is able to decode a wide variety of media files, including MP3, AAC, Real Audio, WAV, Nokia Ring Tones, AMR, AMR-WB, AMR-NB, AU, MIDI, H.263, JPEG, JPEG2000, EXIF 2.2, GIF 87/89, PNG, BMP (W-BMP), MBM, MPEG-4 and eAAC+ . It also has Hot Swap miniSD card reader expandable to up to 2GB of memory. Nokia N71 multimedia computer comes with 2 cameras (2 megapixel camera with built-in flash and VGA camera), FM ratio tuner and expanded data transfer capabilities.

Nokia N80 slider cellphone is one of Nokia’s most advanced all-in-one’s yet. This Nseries quadband (EDGE/GSM 850/900/1800/1900 + WCDMA 1900 or 2100 MHz) mobile phone comes with 3 megapixel camera and WLAN (Wi-Fi) connectivity. Nokia N80 also has Hot Swap, expandable to 2GB miniSD card slot. With integrated music and video player, FM radio, dedicated e-mail application, enhanced Web browser and MS Office document viewers this multimedia computer seamlessly blends personal entertainment with mobile business needs.
