The Casio G’zOne is a rugged handset that features Triple Sensor technology and advanced G’zGear software which can operate in six modes: Earth Compass, Astro Calendar, Sunrise Sunset, Tides, Walking Counter and Thermometer.

The phone also features Push To Talk, EV-DO Rev. A connectivity, GPS, stereo Bluetooth, touch-sensitive music controls, and a 2MP camera with flash and video recording.

Casio G’zOne Rock will be available at Verizon starting November 20. The phone’s price is $199.99 with a 2-yr contract agreement and after a $50 mail-in rebate.

Huawei M228 is the MetroPCS-bound phone, and, although its description over at the Bluetooth SIG says that it’s “designed as a mobile office for the business persons”, it actually looks like a pretty simple candybar.

The M228 has CDMA and AWS connectivity, a photo camera (with a dedicated key), and that’s about all we know for now. Here’s the phone’s front:

Next, the Huawei C6100 looks more like a smartphone (although it probably isn’t), featuring a full QWERTY keypad, dedicated Yahoo key, Music player, 2MP camera, CDMA 1X connectivity, MicroSD card support, and what seems to be a 3.5mm headset jack.

Huawei C6100 was just approved by the FCC, but we don’t know when and where it will be launched.

The Huawei G7002 has also passed the FCC recently. It’s a GSM touchscreen phone with Bluetooth, FM radio and a 1.3MP camera.

As in the case of C6100, details about the release of Huawei G7002 are currently missing.

The TwitterPeek features a 2.5 inch QVGA landscape display, a full QWERTY keyboard, a trackwheel on the side, and a battery that should last up to three days.

So what can you do with it? Well, it’s a Twitter-only handset, so you can: read Tweets, send Tweets, reply, retweet, send direct messages, download followers and… that’s about it. When you receive Tweets, the TwittertPeek can vibrate, make a tweeting sound, and light up a blue light on the front.

The folks over at PC Mag already had the chance to play with a TwitterPeek. Reportedly, the device is very easy to set-up, but it’s “painfully slow” after that. When you’re viewing the main list of tweets, you can only see the first three and a half words of each tweet – you have to hit the Return key to read more. Also, you can’t search for trending topics, can’t view photos other than the ones stored on Twitpic, and can’t view full HTML pages.

TwitterPeek costs $99.99 with 6 months of free service, or $199.99 with lifetime service. You can buy the device via the Twitter Peek website.

Qualcomm joined the Symbian Foundation through its wholly owned subsidiary Qualcomm Innovation Center (QuIC), which will have the role of “optimizing open source software for use with Qualcomm technology.”

Fujitsu, which sold more than 40 million Symbian-based phones in Japan (1.2 million in Q2 2009 only), “will work with foundation members to contribute to the development of the Symbian platform and is committed to Symbian’s continued commercial success.”

Over the years, Fujitsu came with important Symbian handsets, like:

• F2051 – the first 3G phone for NTT DOCOMO’s FOMA 3G network (in 2002);
• F2102 V – the first videophone (in 2003);
• F900i – the first Flash-based Symbian OS phone (in 2004).

“We believe Fujitsu will continue to bring a wealth of experience in making consumer focused multimedia handsets with new user experience to the Symbian Foundation drawing on the successes of the innovative firsts Fujitsu has offered on Symbian,” declared Lee Williams, executive director of the Symbian Foundation.

“The Symbian Foundation welcomes QuIC, whose membership and board participation brings us significant wireless technology expertise and whose leadership will act as an important catalyst for the growth of the Symbian ecosystem,” also said Lee Williams.

Qualcomm and Fujitsu will collaborate with the other Symbian Foundation board members, like Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Vodafone, AT&T, NTT DoCoMo, Texas Instruments and ST Microelectronics NV.

Unlike the Pulse, the Huawei G6600 has a full QWERTY keypad, and since we can clearly see a home button above it, this new phone might come with Android too.

Little is known about the features of the G6600. Apparently, the handset only has GSM/GPRS connectivity, which means that it will probably be sold for a low price. Bluetooth and MMS are also featured.

According to the Bluetooth SIG, the Huawei G6600 should be available in Europe, Asia, South America and Africa, although there’s no word on when this will happen.

Customers can buy the phone either on Pay As You Go, for £60 (about $96), or they can get it for free with an “Internet Texter” plan of £15 per month (this includes free internet, free voicemail and free 3-to-3calls).

The INQ Mini 3G is a candybar that integrates Twitter, Facebook, Skype and iTunes. Other features include HSDPA connectivity, QVGA display, 100MB of internal memory, and a 2MP camera.

Later this year, 3 will also launch the INQ Chat 3G (a QWERTY-equipped phone), but an exact release date for it was not given.

Kyocera also said that it would release LTE phones in the years to come, for which it intends to use Android as well as another mobile platform.

Moreover, in 2011, the company wants to introduce a dual-mode CDMA/LTE handset. It didn’t say for which carrier, but MetroPCS seems to be the perfect candidate for this, since it has already announced its LTE plans for next year.

Back to the Kyocera Android phone scheduled for 2010 – this is obviously not the device pictured above (that’s the Kyocera X-tc aka G2GO M2000), so let’s hope it will be way cooler than that.

Sagem and Puma will launch a Puma phone in the second quarter of 2010, just ahead of 2010 FIFA World Cup.

According to the two companies, the Puma phone “will embrace both sport and style with features, functions, and design that reflect the DNA of the Puma brand and encourage usage of data and commerce services.”

Unfortunately, details about the technical features of the upcoming phone were not unveiled.

However, we know that the Puma handset (the company’s first foray into the mobile world) “will be a milestone in the mobile market as the first mobile device completely tailor designed, from the inside out, with technology and services that improve experience and connect a brand community.”

Sounds good, so let’s wait and see what Sagem and Puma are capable of.

The first phone (already available at 3 UK) is the ZTE F102, a simple candybar that features 3G, 2MP camera, Bluetooth, MP3 player, 128MB of internal memory and MicroSD card support. The handset also lets you make free Skype to Skype calls, and use Windows Live messenger.

3 UK’s ZTE F102 (pictured below) is currently priced at £29.99 ($47.8) on Pay As You Go.

If it continues to make deals like this one, ZTE has considerable chances to become the world’s fifth largest phone maker – as a previous report stated.

Like all phones made by Vertu, the Ayxta is made from expensive materials like stainless steel, ceramic, leather, sapphire crystal (for the display) and aerospace grade aluminum parts.

The new phone comes with GPS, 3G (HSDPA, apparently), MicroSD card support, 3MP camera with dual LED flash, and City Brief – a feature that provides “restaurant recommendations, the latest exhibitions, shopping guides and important cultural etiquette tips.” There are also some exclusive ringtones recorded by UK-based band Zero 7.

Coming at prices ranging from 1,100 INR ($23) to 3,800 INR ($79), the new phones are: ZTE S315, ZTE A261, ZTE R220, ZTE R230 and ZTE R230BT.

By the end of 2009, ZTE plans to offer the phones through 100,000 retail outlets across India, including through Overseas Mobiles – which has been appointed as ZTE’s national distributor.

There aren’t too many details abailable at the moment, but we know that ZTE A261 and ZTE R220 are candybars and look like this:

The announcement was made the same day when Motorola unveiled MotoBlur and the Motorola Cliq / Dext (the company’s first Android device).

INQ didn’t give too many details about its Android plans, but said that its first Android phone should be launched in 2010.

According to MoCoNews, INQ’s CEO Frank Meehan expressed both its enthusiasm and its concerns regarding Android, by saying: “When you look at who do you select, you come to Android” and “currently Android phones on networks that are selling against the iPhone have not performed well. You need to get the experience better.”

INQ Mobile has recently introduced the INQ Chat 3G (pictured above) and INQ Mini 3G – two affordable phones with social messaging features including quick access to Twitter and Facebook.

The new Vodafone handsets range from stylish and expensive devices to basic, affordable ones (some of them are manufactured in collaboration with MediaTek).

Let’s start with the Vodafone 533 Catwalk Collection.

This includes three different editions of the same phone: Vodafone 533 Catwalk Red, Vodafone 533 Catwalk Lady (designed by Berlin-based artist Tomek Sadurski), and Vodafone 533 Catwalk Crystal. They share the same technical features: 176 x 220 pixels display, Bluetooth 2.0, FM radio, Vodafone Mail, 1.3MP camera, and tri-band GSM/EGE connectivity (900/1800/1900 MHz).

The Vodafone 533 Crystal has been dressed by CRYSTALLIZED with 126 precision-cut crystals made in Austria. The phone also comes with the CRYSTALLIZED logo, and CRYSTALLIZED Swarovski Elements animations.

And now let’s present the other five phones.

Vodafone 541 2G Touch – the carrier’s first entry level touchscreen phone. It will be available across Europe on pre-pay, in four color versions: black, pink, white and red. Features include: a 2.4 inch QVGA display, “finger touch UI”, MMS, WAP browser, FM radio, and 1.3MP camera.

Vodafone 840 3G Touch – featuring 3G connectivity, a 2.8 inch QVGA display, finger touch UI, 2MP camera, Web browsing, music player and other multimedia capabilities.

Vodafone 1240 – QWERTY equipped phone with a QVGA display, Visto push email, 2MP camera and 3G HSDPA.

Vodafone 540 – simple candybar with a 2 inch TFT display, 2MP camera, email, Opera Mini, MP3 player and FM radio. It will be launched on pre-pay.

Vodafone 340 – another simple candybar, presented as “the most affordable camera phone in the range”. It features a VGA camera, 1.8 inch display, Opera Mini and FM radio.

It seems that Mivvy has customized the phone with its own User Interface, which is obviously a good thing, since Windows Mobile is plain boring.

Presented by Verizon as a “must-have phone for globetrotters and jet-setters”, the Escapade is a rather simple clamshell that comes with dual band CDMA 1X and quad band GSM/GPRS (850/900/1800/1900) connectivity, as well as a pre-installed SIM card.

Other notable features include: 2 inch internal TFT display, 1.1 inch external CSTN screen, VZ Navigator capabilities, Mobile Web, Mobile Email, Bluetooth and a 2MP camera.

Verizon will sell the Escapade starting tomorrow, August 21, for as low as $29.99 on contract (after a $50.00 mail-in rebate).

Called Huawei U7510, the new phone looks like it’s made by HTC for its mid to low-end Touch series.

Anyway, the U7510 uses Qualcomm BREW 3.1 and comes with both GSM and HSDPA connectivity, Bluetooth with A2DP, and a QVGA touchscreen display. A photo camera is also featured, but we don’t know its Megapixel count.

Details about the price and release date of Huawei U7510 are missing. However, since the phone has HSDPA, it may be launched in many other countries beside China.

Contrary to previous beliefs, the Dell Mini 3i does not literally run on Android, but on China Mobile’s proprietary OMS (Open Mobile System) platform – which is based on Android.

The smartphone was presented at the same time with China Mobile’s own app store, simply called Mobile Market and accessible soon online at this address.

The smartphone’s features seem to be identical with the rumored ones, including a 3.5 inch capacitive touchscreen display with 640 x 360 pixels, Bluetooth, 3MP camera, MicroSD card support, and 2G connectivity (no 3G). There’s no Wi-Fi, but there might be GPS in there somewhere.

It’s still not clear when Dell Mini 3i will be available for purchase, and neither for what price.

The first one, Huawei C7300, is a CDMA2000 phone, and thus it will probably be launched by China Telecom.

The features of C7300 are rather modest, including: 2.5 inch QVGA touchscreen display with 65k colors, GPS, handwriting recognition, 2MP camera, MP3 player and MicroSD card support.

The phone weighs 110 grams, measures 109.4 x 57.6 x 14.2 millimeters and looks like this:

The second new phone, Huawei T550+, features both GSM and TD-SCDMA connectivity, hence being made for China Mobile.

A touchscreen display and a 2MP camera are also included into the T550+.

No word yet on the release date and prices of Huawei C7300 and T550+.

Details about the Rock C731 are currently missing, but the Brigade has just been approved by the FCC, under the name of Casio Hitachi C741.

We don’t know much about the specs of C741, save for the fact that it has CDMA/EV-DO connectivity and Bluetooth. However, the FCC has unveiled a sketchy image of the phone – although it seems that it’s just a part of it (otherwise, this would be a pretty weird device):

The previous Casio phone launched by Verizon, the Exilim C421, is a really cool handset, packing stuff like a 5.1MP camera with 3x optical zoom, a 180–degree rotating QVGA display, and GPS.

I guess that we should expect similar (or better) features to be included in the Casio Brigade C741. We’ll bring more details as soon as we find them.

Well, the company has just announced not one, but two such phones: INQ Chat 3G and INQ Mini 3G, which come as “affordable 3G social mobiles with Twitter and iTunes media sync”.

The handsets use a software developed by doubleTwist and capable of syncing music from both iTunes and Windows Media Player.

Other common features include free push Gmail, Facebook, Skype and IM applications.

The first phone, INQ Chat 3G, brings a full QWERTY keyboard, looking a bit like a smartphone. It also has a 2.4 QVGA display, HSDPA connectivity, GPS, 3.2MP camera, 120MB of internal memory, and MicroSD card support (up to 8GB).

The second phone, INQ Mini 3G, is a classic candybar that also features HSDPA, plus a 2.2 inch QVGA display, 2MP camera and 100MB of internal memory.

INQ Chat 3G and INQ Mini 3G should be available for purchase in the fourth quarter of 2009. Their price was not announced, but it will be on the affordable side.

The Ascent Ti Carbon Fibre phones are handcrafted in England and include “the optimum amount of carbon fibers and resin”, combined in order to “achieve a flawless uniform look on both the flat and curved parts.”

Feature-wise, Vertu Ascent Ti Carbon Fibre apparently offers a 2 inch QVGA display, 3G, 4GB of internal memory and a 3.15MP camera with LED flash (typical for an Ascent Ti phone)

The new Vertu collection includes the following models: Ascent Ti Carbon Fibre Limited Edition, Carbon Fibre Grip, Carbon Fibre & Copper Grip, and Carbon Fibre & Aluminium Grip.

The prices of Vertu’s Carbon Fibre Ascent Ti phones are “available upon request.”

Recently approved by the FCC, the device is an entry-level clamshell that comes with a red case and a golden Miss Sixty logo all over it.

The phone also has golden keys and a golden headphone set (of course, there’s actually nothing made out of gold in there).

I personally don’t like the phone’s look that much, but this doesn’t mean everyone has to dislike it:

As Cellular News reports, Dell’s president of consumer division, Ronald Garriques, confirmed that the company plans to “work with the top three to four” carriers, in order to “see what their needs are”.

There are reports saying that at least one of Dell’s smartphones will run on Android, and that Dell might also make Android netbooks.

We already saw a possible Dell smartphone (pictured below), but since there’s nothing official about it, we can’t say for sure that it will be among the handsets that Dell wants to release.

The first Dell smartphone – with or without Android – could be launched in China, sometime in the fourth quarter of 2009.

Sold by the Czech company WigiTel (but probably built in China), the W3 has a clamshell design, coming with a 128 x 128 pixels internal touchscreen display, as well as a small OLED external display.

The watch phone also has a round keypad – not sure about how user-friendly that is, but at least it looks pretty interesting, as you can see below:

The company sold phones in Europe and China until 2007, when losses made it re-think its strategy. Since then, NEC phones are only commercialized in Japan. However, since the demand in Japan fell 29% this year, NEC now wants to try its luck abroad once again.

It’s not clear yet in what markets NEC will start shipping phones, but, according to Reuters, a company spokesman said that Europe is a possibility.

The Japanese manufacturer plans to sell at least 1 million handsets overseas, for an average price of $300.

Sharp, one of NEC’s main competitors, also intends to release smartphones in Europe – its goal is to sell 4 million devices outside Japan this year.

Well, according to Tony Limrick, Managing Director of Archos Northern Europe, the French company will be ready to launch it on September 15.

In fact, Archos readies more than one Android device, but it’s not clear yet when it will introduce them.

Anyway, RegHardware says that the devices were described as “Android-based with phone, email, Google apps and Android Apps” – which kind of confirms what we previously heard about Archos’ first Android IMT.

One of the upcoming Archos Android devices has a 5 inch screen, and HSDPA connectivity (7.2Mbps).

The price of Archos’ first Android tablet is not known, but we’ll probably find it out pretty soon.

Made “for the needs of the international traveler”, the Duet Travel comes with a National Geographic pay-as-you-go SIM card that lets you make affordable calls from no less than 185 countries, as well as receive free calls in over 80 countries. You also get 30 minutes of outgoing call credit, available in most countries.

Obviously, the phone supports a secondary SIM card of your choice.

Sadly, the Duet only has tri-band GSM connectivity (900/1800/1900 MHz) and it lacks 3G.

Other features include a 2.8 inch QVGA display, mobile TV, Bluetooth, FM radio, VGA camera with video recording, a 1GB MicroSD card in the box, and pre-loaded National Geographic content (ringtones, videos, wallpapers).

Headquartered in Qingdao, Haier is mainly famous for domestic appliances (freezers, washing machines etc), and its cell phones are sold almost exclusively in China.

However, the Android-powered Haier H7 seems to be headed for Europe. According to CNET, the smartphone should reach France sometime in September.

It’s said that the price of H7 will be of only $150.

The low price is somewhat justified by the features Haier H7 has:

• 2.8 inch TFT display of unknown resolution
• GPS
• Wi-Fi
• Bluetooth

• 2MP camera

All in all, it’s nice that we’re going to have cheap Android smartphones, even if they’re coming from companies that aren’t major players in the mobile market.

Under the agreement, ModeLabs will develop Lacoste phones that will be on sale starting 2010.

The first ModeLabs Lacoste phone will reflect the quality values, the simplicity and elegance of the Lacoste brand. Further details are currently unknown, so we can’t tell you what the ModeLabs Lacoste phone will look like.

No word yet if the upcoming handsets will be luxury ones, or just regular phones with the Lacoste crocodile logo embedded on their cases.

Anyway, it looks like more and more fashion-related companies are venturing into the cell phone business – we already have phones manufactured in collaboration with Prada, Armani, Hugo Boss and so on.

Huawei U8230 looks slightly different from the company’s Android prototype seen back in February, although the overall aspect has not been changed.

Feature-wise, the U8230 offers a wide 3.5 inch touchscreen display (unknown resolution), on-screen QWERTY keyboard, trackball, a 3.2MP camera, various Google apps and a 1,500 mAh battery.

Next we have the Windows Mobile Huawei C8000, which reminds me of HTC’s Touch 3G:

Its features include a 2.8 inch touchscreen display, 3D UI, and “a unique independent display adapter which enables the smooth presentation of video files and DVD-quality pictures.”

Both of Huawei’s new smartphones will be commercially available in the second half of 2009. As previously reported, the Android U8230 will probably be launched by T-Mobile and TIM, among others. No word yet on pricing.

The PDAFans forum from China has unveiled a picture with the supposed Dell handset, showing a device that definitely resembles the Palm Pre.

The smartphone has a rounded case, a large touchscreen display and a video call camera.

No other details are known, but Dell might have also packed a sliding QWERTY keyboard into the device – let’s hope it’s a landscape one, like Samsung Omnia Pro B7610 has, and not a portrait one, like the one the Pre features.

Dell’s Android smartphone might be released in China first, sometime in late 2009. I guess that we’ll find out soon if this is the real thing, or just another Chinese knock-off device.

We saw the phones several times until now, and we also knew that they would be released this month, so it’s good they’re both finally available for purchase.

First, let’s talk about the Casio Exilim, a clamshell presented as “the picture perfect blend of digital camera and entertainment, for messaging, and for fun.”

Apart from coming with a 180–degree rotating QVGA display, the handset also has a 5.1MP camera with autofocus, flash, image stabilizer and 3x optical zoom – so it seems to be among the best camera phones on the US market.

The other features of Casio Exilim include:

Motorola Rival A455 is more like an entry-level phone, so it’s cheaper than the Casio Exilim. The Rival features a full QWERTY keyboard, a 176 x 220 pixels display, touch dial-pad, 3.5mm headset jack, GPS, 2MP camera, 130MB of internal memory, and microSD card support.

Motorola Rival is available for $99.99 with a 2-yr contract agreement, in either tin silver or purple.

Presented as a “pocketable mobile internet terminal”, the XPPhone has a generous 4.8 inch TFT touchscreen display with 800 x 480 pixels, and a sliding QWERTY keyboard.

The ITG XPPhone weighs 400 grams (battery included) and features GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and an AMD CPU of unknown speed.

Furthermore, the hybrid device supports GSM/WCDMA, CDMA/EVDO, or TD-SCDMA/TD-HSDPA connectivity – so it could be used anywhere around the world.

Apparently, the terminal will be launched in various configurations, which should include hard drives of up to 120GBs.

ITG didn’t say when the XPPhone would be commercially available, and neither for what price, but the company will showcase a prototype at Computex 2009.

The plant was opened in collaboration with Foxlink (also known as Cheng Uei Precision Industry Co. Ltd.) and it will produce mirasol displays on “generation 4.5 glass.”

By using reflective technology, Qualcomm’s mirasol displays can provide superior outdoor visibility while significantly reducing power consumption. It’s said that, as long as a display image is unchanged, the power usage is close to zero.

The new displays also have a rapid refresh rate, thus videos and multimedia applications should work perfectly with them.

All these attributes make mirasol displays perfect for small devices like cell phones, MIDs and so on.

“The mirasol facility is game-changing for Qualcomm MEMS Technologies, as its capabilities move us closer to delivering next generation mirasol displays to the market with increased efficiency and in greater quantities. Since almost everyone uses Twitter these days, the British company has thought it would be a good idea to make a phone that features a Web-based Twitter client.

According to Reuters, the INQ Twitter phone will be released sometime before Christmas.

Frank Meehan, INQ’s chief executive, said that the device should have a retail price of less than $140, which means it will probably not bring many high-end features (if any).

It’s not clear yet if the Twitter phone will have a full QWERTY keypad, but that would surely help users write and send Tweets faster.

INQ didn’t say whether it will release the new phone in Europe only, or if it plans to sell it in North America too.

As we’ve seen before, Motorola Rival A455 is a slider with a full QWERTY keyboard.

It has 1X EV-DO connectivity, a 2.2 inch 176 x 220 pixels display, external touch dial pad, GPS, 2MP camera and MicroSD card support.

According to BGR, Motorola Rival costs for only $99. Of course, this price requires you to sign a 2-yr contract agreement and is available only after a $50 mail-in rebate, because, otherwise, the phone retails for $269.

The Rival A455 will be available in two colors: silver and purple.

Another new phone that Verizon will launch on June 10 is the Casio Exilim C721.

BGR has it that the Exilim C721 will be available for $279 after a $50 mail in rebate and 2-yr service agreement, or for $449 free of contract.

Kind of expensive, but the new Casio phone has some pretty cool features, including:

As it turns out, the company is seriously betting on Android and it intends to launch the DSTL1 starting June.

According to Android Authority, the US and Turkey will be the first markets to get the phone, with Russia and Germany to follow.

The DSTL1 doesn’t have 3G – being only a GSM/EDGE device, so it may not be that successful in the US.

Anyway, as you can see in the images below, the General Mobile DSTL1 doesn’t look bad at all:

The Japanese company currently sells phones only in Japan, so the planned Android device will represent its mobile debut overseas. 

Tech-On quotes Keisuke Ishii, director of the Mobile Terminal Business Unit at Panasonic Mobile Communications, as saying: “We are seriously considering developing an Android-based handset and entering overseas mobile phone markets in fiscal 2010.”

If the company will make an Android phone, it will probably be launched both in Europe and North America.

Well, we’re impatiently waiting – especially since the Panasonic phones sold in Japan are all high-end, with features like WVGA displays and cameras of at least 5MP.

As a side note, the first Android phone to hit Japan is HTC Magic, which should be released soon by NTT DoCoMo, under the name of HT-03A.

Even more, the OT-S988W is a smartphone that runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and features a sliding QWERTY keyboard – just like, say, the HTC Touch Pro 2.

The new handset also has quad-band GSM connectivity, plus UMTS 2100MHz. It will be launched soon in China, through China Unicom, as par of its new 3G brand called WO.

The handsets come only with tri-band GSM/GPRS connectivity (900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) and all of them can use a secondary SIM card on the 900 / 1800 MHz GSM frequencies.

As its name blatantly shows it, the mivvy dual TV touch is not only a touchscreen phone, but also one that offers an analog TV tuner.

What it does not offer, however, is originality when it comes to design – especially if we look at its HTC Touch Diamond-like back case:

Its features are similar to the ones of the mivvy dual slide, the main difference being the QVGA display. 

The new phones’ retail prices are as follows: mivvy dual TV touch – €160 ($215); mivvy dual slide – €150 ($202); mivvy dual nio – €120 ($162). For the moment, it looks like they can be bought only from the Czech Republic.

The first handset, Huawei M750, is a full-touchscreen device that was recently approved by the FCC, with the logo of MetroPCS on it. So it’s obvious that the regional carrier (which plans to deploy a LTE network) will release it sometime later this year.

The M750 is just a basic phone, with a simple design and simple features. Its display size and resolution are not known, but we do know that the handset packs a 1.3MP camera, Bluetooth and a 1150 mAh battery.

Here’s what the Huawei M750 looks like:

ZTE C90 is also a handset that might reach MetroPCS. It was just approved by the FCC to work on the AWS bands – so it could be launched by Cricket too. 

The C90 looks a bit weird, sporting a smallish display and a sliding QWERTY keyboard:

Its other features include GPS, a 1.3MP camera, Bluetooth with A2DP and MicroSD card support (up to 2GB).

No word yet on when Huawei M750 and ZTE C90 will be officially announced.

Well, this is not the case with the iWatch M860, made by the Swiss-based Handyuhr.

The M860 comes with tri-band GSM connectivity (900 /1800 / 1900 MHz) and, since it supports two SIM cards, it’s suitable for users who travel a lot and always carry two cell phones with them.

The display of iWatch M860 is a 1.4 inch TFT touchscreen one with 260k colors and 128 x 160 pixels – there’s also a mini-stylus to help with controlling the screen.

Other specs include:

• 1GB MicroSD card in the box (cards up to 16GB are supported)

Produced by a company that Chavez nationalized, the Vergatorio phone is a low-end model that costs only about $15.

Even so, according to Telegraph.co.uk, the handset features stuff like WAP browser and MP3 player.

Hugo Chavez believes that the Vergatorio phone “will be the biggest seller not only in Venezuela but the world. Whoever doesn’t have a Vergatario is nothing.”

However, now Garmin says that its very first smartphone will not hit the market until the third quarter of the year.

According to Twice, the Nuvifone G60 is still “in the testing phase of the certification process”.

That’s because, as Garmin’s president Cliff Pemble mentioned, it’s difficult to build from the ground up a smartphone based on a custom Linux OS. Well, we can’t say we disagree.

So in the end it looks like the G60 may be released at about the same time with the Windows Mobile 6.1 M20. Now let’s hope that there will be no more delays announced by Garmin-Asus.

The Vegas is sold by Orange for £48.50 (€54 or $71) on Pay As You Go. It’s available in two colors – black and pink, the latter being exclusive to Orange.

As we previously reported, Orange Vegas is a pretty basic handset.

It features a one-touch UI especially designed for Orange, a 2.4-inch QVGA display, Bluetooth, MP3 player, FM radio, 1.3MP camera and MicroSD card support. 

For the moment, Orange Vegas is available only in the UK, but it will probably be launched in other Orange markets too.

The latest from the MyWay series (which includes the MyWay Slim and MyWay Alure), MyWay Touch is just an entry-level touchscreen phone.

It weighs 85 grams, measures 96.4 x 52.4 x 12 mm and has tri-band GSM/GPRS connectivity – so there’s no 3G and not even EDGE.

The handset looks OK, although it definitely scores low on originality.

The bottom of Cool758 can be removed to unveil a real razor, which, if used, will probably drain the battery life in no time.

Its newest handset is Emgeton Enzo, a 3G candybar that kind of looks like Sony Ericsson’s C902.

Unlike the SE phone, the Enzo doesn’t come with an advanced photo camera.

Instead, it has a Qualcomm / Philips chipset that allows you to use two SIM cards “simultaneously and completely independently of each other”.
