W760 was announced in January by Sony Ericsson, but the company seems to have decided that the music-oriented phone can be more of a hit to young customers.

The new MTV edition of Sony Ericsson W760 will be available in Italy in a few weeks’ time, and then all over Europe. The MTV edition is the result of a partnership between Sony Ericsson and MTV Europe and will be more expensive than the usual Sony Ericsson W760, which costs around 260 Euros.

The cost of the new device will be around 300 Euros, but you get some benefits for the extra money. The Sony Ericsson W760 MTV Edition has a more colored case and it will allow users to stream MTV music, videos and other mobile content.

The rest of the Sony Ericsson W760 MTV Edition doesn’t seem to have changed at all; it has the same 3.2 megapixel camera and a lot of entertainment features, aimed at the young generation. You’ll get a Walkman 3.0 player, an FM radio and a 2.2” display with 320 x 240 pixel resolution. Sony Ericsson W760 MTV Edition also includes a GPS receiver and you can use it to browse the web and download files at HSDPA speeds.

Sony Ericsson has been very tight-lipped so far about their new device, which is codenamed BeiBei, but fortunately we are lucky enough to keep finding interesting bits of information as the days pass by towards its still unknown launch and release date.

Here we see the Symbian UIQ powered little number, sporting a different color from that which it had when it first appeared two weeks ago. The multitude of buttons are seen in full now and up close, and I have to say it’s quite well arranged for something that’s nearly cluttered.

The Sony Ericsson BeiBei will be a touchscreen Walkman phone touting Symbian 9.3 OS with support for demand paging. I highly suspect if the white version pictured here, if it ever does go into production like the black one, will have different/ modified specs. Now can Sony Ericsson please just release this smart phone now?

While details aren’t exactly forthcoming about this new Sony Ericsson device codenamed “beibei,” there are a few small tidbits that, as always, accompany unofficial leaks like these. From the looks of the pictures available, our friends over at the Chinese site <a title="Yesky.com" href="http://go.unwiredview.com.?id=3730X622581&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Ftranslate.google.com%2Ftranslate%3Fhl%3Den%26amp%3Blangpair%3Dzh&sref=rss"en&u=http://mobile.yesky.com/mobilenews/224/8075224.shtml" target="_blank">Yesky have spent some quality time with it. Unlike the Paris we reported on some time ago, the pictures look really good and give us some eye candy to hold us until the official announcement.

Beibei sports the new Symbian 9.3 OS with the UIQ 3.3 interface, which would mean that the device will be able to respond faster thanks to Demand Paging support; the choice of OS isn’t exactly unexpected now that Sony Ericsson co-owns Symbian UIQ and we can expect to see more devices make an appearance in the future running on it.

Billed as a Walkman phone, this candybar sports a pretty smallish screen for a touchscreen phone but the gaudy UIQ 3.3 user interface might as well make up for that. One more intriguing factor that we notice is the abundance of buttons, which is usually not the case with most other touchscreen phones.

Let’s hope SE will have mercy on us and release some official info on this but meanwhile take a look at some more pictures of the oddly named beibei.

The live pictures for Sony Ericsson W890i look real enough and it does not look like a hoax.

Currently the highest bid for W890i Walkman is 530 Zloty (~140 EUR), which looks kinda low for a working next gen Walkman phone. But the auction is set to run for 5 more days, so the price is likely to go up.

According to Swedish technology site MKF, Sony Ericsson is planning the next major launch for it’s new phones during press conference on June 14, in Berlin.

According to Sony Ericsson “the latest developments within photo and music” will be presented. Let’s speculate a bit what these developments may actually mean.

The latest development in photo is, most likely, the long overdue 5 megapixel Sony Ericsson K850i Cybershot phone. The SE K850i was spotted in the wild this March.

The latest developments in music for Sony Ericsson can not be without the new Walkman phone models. And right now we have an information about a couple of new Walkman sliders that should be ready for sale this month.

The first one is Sony Ericsson W999i Walkman Slider that has surfaced on the net this April and was spotted on official 3GSM Association site last week.

Another one is the rumored Shinobu Walkman slider, that was found on the shelves of a Polish cellphone retailer last month.

And of course there’s a long awaited Sony Ericsson M610 (Lizy) 3G phone, that has been approved by FCC already.

Well, I’m not sure that all of them will be announced on June 14, but all of these phones are long overdue and seem to be ready to go on sale pretty soon.

Just a little over a week ago Sony Ericsson announced a number of really cool new phones.

And now it looks that more Sony Ericsson phones are coming – the pictures of new Sony Ericsson Walkman Slider phone started surfacing in Eastern Europe.

First – JUSTAMP published a number of live pics taken in the shop of Polish cellphone retailer Art Kom GSM Group:

Then Hungarian site Terminal.hu came up with more detailed specs and expected price ($550) for this SE Walkman Slider:

2 mpx camera
2.4″, 320×240 px 262K QVGA display
UMTS/HSDPA connectivity
12.5 mm thick

Given that the live phone already surfaced at retailer shop, I think it should be safe to expect the official launch pretty soon.

And there was one other SE phone missing from the last announcement – 5 megapixel Sony Ericsson K850i Cybershot that we have been waiting for a few months now.

Time for a few more official SE press releases?

Update: Shinobu has been officially released as Sony Ericsson W910i Walkman Phone.

Finally. A good looking Sony Ericsson 3G Walkman Phone!

When designing it’s newest W660 Walkman Phone, Sony Ericsson focused on the overall design in addition to the advanced music features. And they have something to show for it:

Coming in Record Black and Rose Red colors with a cool tactile finish, Sony Ericsson W660 has the looks and all the features 3G phone has to have.

Last week we have told you about new Sony Ericsson W880 Walkman Phone to be released today.

Well, Sony Ericsson W880/W888 is officially out. And we were right about most of the specs too, except one pretty important thing – no HSDPA connectivity for this handset.

Otherwise Sony Ericsson W880 is as cool as we told you. At 9.4 mm, it is the slimmest Walkman Phone ever built by SE, it comes with 1GB Memory Stick Micro already in the box, so you can store up to 900 full length tracks from the get go. SE W880/W888 has all the Walkman Phone software and music navigation controls, great sound quality, 2 megapixel camera and front VGA camera for making video calls.

With brushed stainless steel finish and two possible color schemes – Steel Silver and Flame Black – slim W880/W888 Walkman has got the looks too.

Other specs for Sony Ericsson W880/W888 include:

1.8 QVGA 262k TFT display
UMTS 2100, GSM 900/1800/1900 connectivity
Bluetooth 2.0
Up to 6.5 hrs of talk time
Up to 20 hrs music playback
Up to 425 hrs standby

Sony Ericsson W880 Wlakman phone will become available in select markets already this quarter.

Since China doesn’t have established 3G services in many places yet, this phone would be sold there under the number W888 and will have UMTS video telephony features removed.
