The British retailer is offering the AT200 16GB for £399 (about $631), and the AT200 32GB for £449 (about $710). A bit pricey, I’d say. Anyway, you can buy the tablets only online (here) for now – but starting February 15 Carphone Warehouse’s physical shops will have it, too.

At just 7.7mm, the Toshiba AT200 is considered the thinnest tablet in the world. Its features include a 10.1 inch LED-backlit display with 1280 x 800 pixels, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, A-GPS, HDMI, 1.2GHz dual-core TI OMAP processor, 1GB of RAM, HDMI, 5MP rear camera with 720p video recording, and a 2MP front-facing camera.

Unfortunately, the A200 is running Android 3.2 Honeycomb. But an update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will be available at some point.

In the US, prices for the Toshiba AT200 / Excite 100 will start at $529.99.

The AT200 will cost $579 (about $606 if we’re talking in US dollars), and should become available starting early February.

Presented by Toshiba as the world’s thinnest and lightest (10 inch) tablet, the AT200 is only 7.7mm thin, and weighs 558 grams. It features Android 3.2 Honeycomb (upgradeable to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich), Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, DLNA, GPS, Micro HDMI, Micro USB, 5MP rear camera, 2MP front-facing camera, 16GB of internal memory, and Micro SD card support.

Starting February, the Toshiba AT200 should also be available in Canada, for a price that hasn’t been disclosed.

The Excite X10 should hit the US market later this quarter. Apparently, it’s going to be launched with Android 3.2 Honeycomb on board, but an update to Ice Cream Sandwich will be available later on.

There will be two versions of the Excite X10: 16GB (priced at $529.99), and 32GB ($599.99).

The Excite X10 / AT200 is the world’s thinnest tablet, measuring only 7.7mm. It features a 10 inch Gorilla Glass display with 1280 x 800 pixels, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, micro HDMI, MicroSD card slot, 5MP rear camera, and a 2MP front facing camera. The tablet will be released in Canada, too, reportedly starting February.

The 7-inch Thrive is basically a smaller version of Toshiba’s first Android tablet, the 10.1-inch Thrive. It retains most of the same specs, including the screen’s 1280×800 resolution (which is not something you see often in 7″ slates), the dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, and 1 GB of RAM. There’s also a 5 MP rear camera, a 2 MP front-facing camera, microSD card support, and a micro HDMI connector.

Future shop now has the 7″ Thrive in stock, and will send you one if you agree to pay $369.99 for it. This is the version which comes with 16 GB of integrated storage. Connectivity-wise, there’s no mobile data access, so you’ll have to stick to Wi-Fi to get online.

Aside from these storage capacity differences, the two 7-inch Thrive tablets are basically identical. Both sport a 7-inch 1280×800 touchscreen, a dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, 1 GB of RAM, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, stereo speakers, a 5 MP rear camera, a 2 MP front-facing camera, microSD card support, and a micro HDMI connector.

The 7-inch Thrive is 12 mm thick, which is less than Toshiba’s 10-inch Thrive, but still a bit bulky for this day and age. The specs are decent, but nothing to write home about either, since the Tegra 2 has been powering tablets for many months now. The screen deserves some praise though, for it packs more pixels than 7-inch tablets usually come with.

According to Toshiba Canada’s official website, the tablet will be called Toshiba Excite, and should be out in January. However, Mobile Syrup has reportedly “confirmed” that the Excite will in fact be released a month later, in February (for an unknown price).

The AT200 Excite is only 7.7mm thin, and runs Android 3.2 Honeycomb (most likely upgradeable to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich). Its other features include: 10.1 inch display with 1280 x 800 pixels, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, 1.2GHz dual-core TI OMAP 4430 processor, 5MP rear camera, 2MP front-facing camera, Mini USB 2.0, Micro HDMI, MicroSD card support, and 16GB / 32GB of internal memory.

The Excite A200 will be Toshiba’s second Android tablet released in Canada – after the bulky Toshiba Thrive, available there since August.

The 3.2 update (software version 3.2.1.31.5.0002 to be more exact) brings a handful of novelties, including enhanced screen rotation acceleration, improved app compatibility (“applications originally designed for smaller screen devices appear and function better on the larger tablet display”), and “extended screen support API”.

The 7-inch Thrive is set to become available in the US in December, according to what Toshiba said yesterday. So we weren’t expecting it to be in stores anywhere else sooner than that, but that may just happen.

According to Australian Business Traveler, Toshiba’s newest tablet will be out down under before the end of next month. It will be priced at $450 and you’ll be able to purchase it from “leading Australian retailers”.

With the above in mind, it certainly seems plausible that the 7-inch Trive will be launched in other countries as well in the next month or two. We’ll let you know when it does.

Like the Galaxy Tab 7.7, the new Toshiba AT200 runs Android Honeycomb. It is larger that Samsung’s tablet, though, as it comes with a 10.1 inch (1280 x 800) display. Other features: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, dual-core processor, rear and front-facing cameras, micro USB, micro HDMI, and microSD card support.

Toshiba says the AT200 will be available sometime in the fourth quarter of the year. There’s no word on its price yet, but we’ll let you know as soon as we find out something.

However, Toshiba is getting ready to launch a new and much thinner tablet, which – like the Thrive – will run Android Honeycomb. We don’t know much about its specs, but we can see a front-facing camera, 3.5mm headset jack, Micro USB and Micro HDMI ports, and a MicroSD card slot. The screen is probably a 10 inch one.

The Fujitsu Toshiba IS12T will cost 73,500 yen (approximately $960 or €664) sans contract, and 35,100 yen ($459 or €317) with a two-year contract, we found out a few days ago.

Perhaps the most striking feature of this handset, aside from the OS version it runs, is the 13.2-megapixel camera that it comes with. Now we can’t judge the camera’s quality just yet since these things are never about the megapixels alone, but still – that sounds impressive.

The IS12T also has 32 GB of internal storage space, a water-proof and dust-proof casing, and a 3.7-inch 480×800 touchscreen.

The smartphone will be available on August 25 in Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto, Central, Kansai, Okinawa, and Kyushu. A day later, on August 26, you’ll also find it in Chugoku, and on August 27 it will debut in Shikoku.

Unfortunately, the IS12T won’t be available starting August, as previously rumored, but only “after September”. KDDI will launch the handset in Japan first.

The Fujitsu Toshiba IS12T is a beast of a phone. It’s waterproof and dustproof, and features a a 13.2 (!) megapixel camera, 3.7 inch WVGA display, and 32GB of internal memory. Plus, of course, all the new goodies that Windows Phone 7.5 Mango has to offer.

As you can see in the photos above, the new Mango handset will be available in black, pink, and yellow. We don’t know in which other markets besides Japan you’ll be able to buy it, and neither for what price. More info as we get it.

And now it seems that you’re able to get a Toshiba Thrive not only in brick-and-mortar stores, but online too. Well known retailer Newegg has put two versions of Toshiba’s tablet up for grabs on its website. The difference is only in available storage space.

There’s an 8 GB model which retails for $429.99, and a 16 GB version that goes for $479.99. Interestingly enough, Newegg hasn’t (yet?) listed the 32 GB Thrive. But if you don’t want or need 32 GB of internal storage on your tablet, and have been looking forward to the Thrive’s release, perhaps you should head over to Newegg right now and place an order. However, now it looks like some Best Buy locations are already selling the Thrive. According to a thread found over at the Thrive Forums, the tablet is available at Best Buy in Austin, Texas. Only the 16GB and 32GB versions of the Thrive seem to be available now (for $479.99 and $579.99, respectively), but the 8GB version should be also out pretty soon (for $429.99).

The new tablet features a 10.1 inch display with 1280 x 800 pixels, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3.5mm headset jack, stereo speakers with SRS Labs sound enhancement, 5MP rear camera, 2MP front-facing camera, HDMI-out, 1GB of RAM, dual-core 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, and MicroSD card support.

Now, this tablet is the Thrive that we’ve seen several times before, but Toshiba Canada doesn’t call it like that. It simply refers to it as the Toshiba Tablet. Maybe it plans to re-brand it for the Canadian market, who knows?

Anyway. If you are unfamiliar with the Thrive, it spots a 10-inch High-resolution LED Screen, a 1 GHz dual-core Tegra 2 CPU, a 5 megapixel camera in the rear and a 2 megapixel camera in the front for video chatting, full-size HDMI, USB 2.0 and SD card slots. The tablet comes pre-loaded with the latest version of Honeycomb(3.1).  One interesting feature of the Thrive is the interchangeable Easy Grip back covers, although you’ll have to shell out an extra $20 if you want a different color than black.

The Thrive is a nice option for those looking to get the full honeycomb experience, but don’t want to shell out $600 for a Wi-Fi Xoom. You can pre-order the Thrive from Toshiba, Amazon, Best Buy or Office Direct with delivery of the tablet expected mid-July.

Toshiba confirmed this morning that the tablet will be called the Thrive and that the pre-ordering will begin next week. The Thrive is priced at $429 for 8GB, $479 for 16GB, $579 for 32GB. That’s a pretty solid price for a device that is shipped with Android 3.1, has a Tegra 2 dual-core processor, and features an IPS display. Other attractive features are the full sized HDMI and USB ports and the ability to swap out the back of the tablet and replace it with a color you like.

Toshiba is smart and isn’t doing much to change the stock Android experience on the tablet. They are simply adding their Resolution+ brightening technology and a better file manager as well as some third party apps pre-installed including QuickOffice and LogMeIn.

The Thrive will start shipping early July, but Toshiba also mentioned that they would release another Android tablet with a different screen size at some point later in the year. Let us know what you think of the Toshiba Thrive in the comments section below.

Retailer J&R put up some pre-order pages, which are no longer up, for a 10.1-inch Toshiba tablet named the “Thrive.” The 8 GB version of the tablet was available for $449.99, while the 32 GB Thrive was priced at $579.99.  Unfortunately, the pages failed to mention any sort of release date and simply listed the tablet as “coming soon.” The page also confirmed that the tablet has a dual-core Tegra 2 processor, 5-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, 1GB RAM along with the typical SD, USB, and HDMI ports.

A unique feature of the tablet is the replaceable rubberized backings. They come with a cool design and feel pretty good as well. The Thrive does provide pretty good competition to other competing Android tablets such as the  Xoom which is priced at $599 for the 16 GB model. Its nice to see some more affordable high quality tablets hitting the market with Toshiba with the Thrive and Asus with its Eee Pad Transformer leading the way. It’ll be interesting to see how the device fares against other tablets like the Xoom, Playbook, and iPad 2. We will keep you updated on the status of the device.

The tablet, called Toshiba AT300, has been included in the Regza family of products, which may mean it will be released via NTT DoCoMo (Japan’s largest mobile carrier).

The new Honeycomb tablet – which may or may not be better than Apple’s iPad -  features a 10.1 inch display with 1280 x 800 pixels, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth, HDMI, 5MP rear camera, 2MP front-facing camera, 1GB of RAM, dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, and 16GB of on-board memory.

In Japan, the Toshiba Honeycomb tablet will cost about 60,000 yen ($725). Akihabara News has a video from the AT300 launch event (they say the tablet has a 3D display, but the official specs don’t confirm this):

That page has uncovered many pictures of the tablet, alongside some more details about it. The Toshiba tablet is powered, not at all unexpectedly, by an Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor. It has a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front facing camera for video calls, and its touchscreen has a resolution of 1280×800.

In the connectivity department we have Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth, a miniUSB port as well as a full-size USB port, an SD card slot and HDMI out port. The battery and the back cover are replaceable. A docking station with “additional connectivity ports” is also in the works, but there are no more details about it yet.

The tablet will run the tablet-optimized Android 3.0 Honeycomb and will have access to the Android Market. As for a release date, or even a product name, it’s anyone’s guess at this point. For the launch, Toshiba has apparently said that it will happen in the first half of this year, so that gives it until June 30 to keep that promise. And we’ll see if by then they’ll be able to come up with a name for this product.

Toshiba even believes that its tablet (pictured below) is superior to the iPad 2.

According to SmartHouse, Rob Wilkinson, General Manager of Toshiba Australia’s Information Systems Division, declared:

“We believe that our device is superior to the Apple device, it may be a little heavier (773g), but it does have a lot of features that the iPad 2 does not have.”

I wouldn’t go as far as saying that Toshiba’s 10.1 inch tablet has “a lot of” extra features, but the device does have some advantages over Apple’s new iPad, including the higher-resolution screen (1280 x 800 pixels), full-sized USB port, SD card support, and a removable battery.

Wilkinson also said that the dual-core tablet would be priced similar to the iPad 2 – so prices for the 32GB version may start at around 600 USD. We’ll bring more details as soon as we get ‘em.

Toshiba’s new tablet doesn’t have a name yet. However, Engadget is reporting that it features a 10 inch, 1280 x 800 pixels capacitive display and is based on Nvidia’s Tegra 2 platform – thus having a dual-core processor.

Other features: ambient light sensor, accelerometer, 5MP photo camera, 2MP front-facing camera for video calling, HDMI-out, USB, and SD card slot.

The tablet has a rubberized back and it should, of course, run Android Honeycomb. Toshiba didn’t say when the device would be available, and neither how much it would cost.

One of them is the Toshiba Regza IS04 – which, as far as I’m aware, is the first Android handset to come with a 12 Megapixel photo camera.

The Regza IS04 is waterproof and it also features a 4 inch FWVGA (854x 480) display, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a 1GHz Snapdragon processor. The smartphone should be out in January 2011, apparently with Android 2.1 on-board (but Froyo may be included by then).

Toshiba will most likely not launch the IS04 (pictured below) outside Japan – although this would surely give the Nokia N8 a run for its money (the N8 being the first 12MP Symbian smartphone)

KDDI’s other two Android smartphones are the Sharp IS05 and the Pantech Sirius IS06. Both run Android 2.2 Froyo and should be out in Japan starting December.

Like the Toshiba TG01, the TG02 and K01 are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 1GHz CPU and run Windows Mobile (version 6.5, for now).

The Toshiba TG02 is a slim full-touch smartphone with a 4.1 inch WVGA capacitive display, and it also brings a “newly designed and highly-intuitive 3D menu system.”

The Toshiba K01 is somewhat similar to the TG02, but it adds a sliding QWERTY keyboard. The K01 is only 12.9mm thick and it’s Toshiba’s first smartphone with an OLED display (4.1 inches, WVGA).

Toshiba didn’t announce the prices and release dates of the TG02 and K01.

As previously rumored, the Toshiba K01 is a Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone with a huge 4.1 WVGA touchscreen display and a full QWERTY keyboard that has a pretty weird key arrangement.

The K01 is 15mm thick and it should be announced by Toshiba sometime before the end of 2009. Until that happens, let’s see what this handset looks like:

Toshiba K02 has not one, but two displays (at least one of them being WVGA). It also features WM 6.5 and a 10-key keyboard. The smartphone should arrive next year.

Finally, the Toshiba L01 is more like a MID than a smartphone:

The L01 has a 7 inch WVGA display, runs Windows Mobile 6.5 and will probably be introduced in late 2010.

Apparently, TG02 is a clamshell phone. However, the photos of TG02 seen earlier this year do not show a clamshell, but a device similar to the TG01.

And to confuse us even more, the Wi-Fi Alliance (PDF link) says that the TG02 has the model number TM5-E01. Now, TM5-E01 is a handset which was approved by the FCC several months ago.

According to the User Manual unveiled by the FCC, Toshiba TG02 / TM5-E01 is based on a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, featuring a 3 inch WVGA touchscreen internal display, a 0.8 inch external screen, and QWERTY keyboard – thus resembling the Toshiba Portege G910. Other specs include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, UMTS 2100 connectivity, and MicroSD card support.

Of course, since there’s nothing official at the moment about the TG02, we can’t know for sure if all this is true or not. Let’s hope things will become clearer soon.

A fuel cell battery charger is considered greener than traditional chargers, due to the fact that it produces power from a reaction between water, air and methanol, while releasing negligible amounts of water vapor and carbon dioxide as by-products. Moreover, the DMFC chargers can be replenished in a matter of seconds with a new methanol cartridge.

According to NetworkWorld, the new Toshiba fuel cell battery charger will be available for purchase before September 2009. Its price is not known at the moment.

Toshiba has also announced the upcoming launch of the world’s first 64GB SDXC memory card. Unlike SDHC cards, SDXC cards can have a storage capacity between 32GB and 2 terabytes.

The 64GB SDXC memory card will be available for purchase sometime in spring 2010. At about the same time, Toshiba will launch new 16GB and 32GB SDHC cards. Similar to the 64GB SDXC card, these can provide a maximum write speed of 35MB/s, and a read speed of 60MB/s.

According to German publication Inside-Handy.de, the new Windows Mobile communicator Toshiba TG01, that has been selling on O2 Germany since the beginning of July, comes with a virus pre-installed on it’s microSD memory card.

The virus itself is  a regular PC/Windows virus that somehow infected the memory card that ships with the phone.

O2 spokesman Albert Fetsch has acknowledged the problem and said that it affects only a few devices.

Currently the sales of Toshiba TG01 on O2 Germany have been halted and customers who have bought  the smartphone are invited to contact customer service.

O2 is currently assessing the impact of the problem and can not provide any solution yet. Though more info should be forthcoming this afternoon.

Orange announced that it will offer the TG01 across the UK starting tomorrow, July 10, for free on select plans.

Orange’s Toshiba TG01 comes with an 8GB MicroSD card, and it’s pre-loaded with a “GI Joe” trailer, which should make good use of the phone’s 4.1 inch WVGA display and its 1GHz Snapdragon chipset.

Part of Orange’s Signature Series, Toshiba TG01 features quick links and shortcuts to Orange TV & Video, Orange Maps and Orange World.

Naturally, the 9.9mm-thin handset also has all those specs that we’ve presented many times until now: HSDPA connectivity, GPS, Wi-Fi, 3.2MP autofocus camera and so on.

Details about the price of Toshiba TG01 for the UK are not known yet. Also, it’s not clear which carrier will offer the handset, but you should know that, in Spain, the TG01 is available via Telefonica, while in Germany it’s exclusively offered by O2 – so O2 UK might get it too.

The main specs and features of Toshiba TG01 include: a 4.1 inch WVGA touchscreen display, Toshiba’s own 3D User interface, HSDPA, GPS, Wi-Fi, a 3.2MP camera and Qualcomm’s 1GHz Snapdragon CPU – all in a case that measures only 9.9 millimeters in thickness.

Next week might also bring details about the availability of the Palm Pre in the UK, so it looks like British mobile users will soon be able to buy two of 2009′s hottest smartphones.

Today, two giant carriers have announced the upcoming launch of Toshiba TG01: Spain’s Telefónica and Japan’s NTT DoCoMo.

Both carriers will offer the handset starting June or July, with NTT selling it under the name of docomo PRO series T-01A. 

The TG01 will come with Windows Mobile 6.1 (upgradeable to 6.5 after this one’s out), a huge 4.1 inch WVGA touchscreen display, a 3D User interface, Wi-Fi, GPS and a 3.2MP camera – all powered by Qualcomm’s 1GHz Snapdragon CPU.

No details yet about the price DoCoMo and Telefónica will ask for the TG01. 

In addition to announcing the Toshiba TG01, NTT DoCoMo and Telefónica said that they intend to collaborate for developing “possible services and applications for open OS handsets.”

Now, several images with the TG02 and TG03 have appeared at Techblog.gr (here and here), confirming the fact that both devices look good, just like the already-announced Toshiba TG01.

Toshiba TG02 is water-resistant and it should come with a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, a 4.1 WVGA touchscreen display and a 3.2MP camera.

Toshiba TG03 has similar specs, but it adds a 5.1-channel speaker and a 5MP camera:

Both the TG02 and TG03 will be released in the fourth quarter of 2009 (or sometime later). Their prices are not known for the moment.

And it looks like it will, if we’re to believe a recently leaked Toshiba 2009/2010 roadmap.

Apparently, Toshiba will launch a TG02 and a TG03 in the fourth quarter of 2009.

Both handsets resemble the TG01, run on Windows Mobile 6.5 and are based on Qualcomm’s 1GHz Snapdragon processor. The difference is that the TG02 is water-resistant, while the TG03 adds a 5MP camera and a 5.1-channel speaker.

Q4 2009 should also bring us the Toshiba K01 and Toshiba K02. Like the TG02 and TG03, these are WM 6.5 smartphones based on the 1GHz Snapdragon CPU.

Toshiba K01 has a 4.1 inch touchscreen display, a 3.2MP camera and a sliding QWERTY keyboard:

Sometime in early 2010, Toshiba plans to launch the L01 – a MID with a 7-inch display:

There were no other new Toshiba handsets there, so I assumed that there won’t be any other handset launched soon.

And when I saw saw some Toshiba device pass through FCC today, I assumed that this was TG01.

Heck, the pictures included in FCC application are Toshiba TG01:

But the user manual says that the handset approved by FCC isn’t TG01. According to the manual it’s Toshiba TM5-E01 (which is probably it’s FCC code and not the real model number).

And the specs described there tell the story of a very different smartphone . The dimensions are wrong (117x 64×19.8mm instead of 129 x 70 x 9.9 mm), display size is wrong (3” instead of 4.1”) and Toshiba TM5 has the secondary  0.8” 96x39px black and white OLED LCD, so it’s probably a clamshell.

These details make me be believe that Toshiba indeed has another 1GHz Snapdragon based Touchscreen phone in the works, only this time in a clamshell form factor. And they have submitted the wrong set of pictures to the FCC.

Update: Arnould from Tweakers.net got in touch with Toshiba and has the following update regarding TG01/TM5 issue:

I have a little update for you to clarify the matter a bit. I’ve investigated this case and contacted Toshiba about it:
- First of all the name: TM5-EO1 is the FCC code for TG01. Easy as that.
- The manual is clearly ment for the TG01, as seen on the pictures in the manual. However, the TG01 isn’t named anywhere in the manual, but called Your Toshiba Smartphone all the time, which could point at the fact that the manual will be used for several phones.
- The dimensions match those of the Portege G910, but not entirely. It seems clear to me that if this will be a second phone (the Snapdragon-processor named points that way), it will be a Portege-successor.
- Toshiba claims there has baan made a mistake in uploading the manual and that this doesn’t point at a new device. It is the ‘honest truth’, said Sharon Johnson.

This way, O2 will offer an excellent alternative to the iPhone 3G, which can be bought by German customers only via T-Mobile. In fact, Toshiba’s handset outruns the iPhone in about all the departments, and it’s even thinner, being only 9.9 millimeters thick.  

O2 Germany will sell the TG01 starting this summer (no exact release date was given), for a price that will be announced later this year.

As a reminder, the features of Toshiba TG01 include:

And, to tell the truth, handsets like Toshiba G910 or G710 were nothing write home about.

But things may be different for Toshiba this year.

Their new Toshiba TG01 smartphone with a huge 4.1” 480 x 800 px touchscreen and 1GHz CPU was among the most impressive, if not THE most impressive handset launched at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this year.

Right now Toshiba TG01 runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 and will have WM 6.5 later, but you actually don’t have to know that.

Toshiba has created it’s own touch optimized user interface, which should work pretty well once all the bugs are ironed out by this summer.

Well, Toshiba TG01, the latest handset unveiled by the Japanese company, apparently has the largest display in the history of mobile phones: a 4.1 inch one, with a WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) resolution.

The TG01 was presented today, during an event held in London. Pocket-lint has a set of images with the handset, which show it to be among the thinnest touchscreen devices ever, as it measures only 9.9 mm in thickness.

Even more, the TG01 comes with other advanced features, including HSDPA connectivity, GPS, DivX support and a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset that runs at 1GHz. The OS is Windows Mobile 6.1, improved with Toshiba’s own Tosh 3D interface.

There’s no word about the handset’s camera yet, so we don’t know its Megapixel count (but it’s probably a high one).

As Toshiba puts it, the new TG01 is set to “revolutionize the mobile entertainment world”, and, with those specs, I think it can do that indeed.

We will probably see the Toshiba TG01 at MWC 2009, when exact details about its availability and price might also be unveiled.

It’s HSDPA capable, Toshiba Portege G450 USB modem. Of course, we already new about Portege G450 from a Russian 2008 Toshiba mobile products roadmap.

But the live pictures and specs of Toshiba G450 Portege show that it’s actually much more interesting then your traditional HSDPA USB stick/modem.

While the primary Toshiba Portege G450 function is USB modem, it can actually double as an emergency GSM phone as well:

As a HSDPA modem Toshiba G450 plugs into your your computer USB port, just as any other USB stick.

But you can also send/receive SMS messages on a Portege G450 via it’s small 96×36 px OLED display and interesting two part keypad. To use it as a phone you’ll have to plugin a separate headset.

Since they were approved at almost the same time, and looked pretty similar in the available pictures, I thought that they may be the same device, headed to the different regions of the world. Toshiba mobile product roadmap, presented in Russia, appeared to confirm that info.

But now I’m not so sure.

Either the spec sheet for Toshiba G920 is wrong, or we have a different device in Portege G910.

Toshiba Portege G910 has been presented during the press event in Milan , Italy this week. And although the looks are the same, it’s specs are different then G920 is supposed to have.

Toshiba Portege G910 will come equipped with a full mobile Office suite, VoIP client and other productivity and media applications.

Unlocked Toshiba G910 price is expected to be around 600 Euro.

Nevertheless we continue to insist that Toshiba Portege G710 GPS/PDA phone is real, just like the other devices from the Russian Toshiba mobile products roadmap, and will be announced very soon now.

And while we are waiting for the official acknowledgement, various regional Toshiba offices continue to unofficially show off the new Portege mobile line.

Otherwise, Toshiba Portege G710 looks like a good and affordable e-mail/messaging device with a nice addition of GPS navigation capabilities.

The Russian mobile site Portavik.ru were able to snap a picture during some presentation, where the whole Toshiba Portege PDA phone roadmap for 2008 was revealed:

Interestingly, there’s no mention of G910 model here. My guess is that G910 and G920 are pretty much the same handsets for different regional markets. And since the roadmap slide was meant for the Russian audience (you can see Russian heading at the top of it), what they’ll get would be Toshiba G920 Portege model.

They also have another “ultra” high end communicator model – Toshiba Portege G930 planned for late Q3 or early Q4, 2008 release. No info about Toshiba G930 form factor, but it looks like it will have full QWERTY keyboard in a slider or flip-phone body.

Then there will be Toshiba Portege G800 launched in early 2008, probably in February, during 3GSM show in Barcelona. Toshiba G800 will be a stylus operated touchscreen phone. No word about possible touch/finger input.

Toshiba will also have two GPS equipped handsets in 2008. Toshiba Portege G710 will be launched together with Toshiba G920, probably during CES show in Las Vegas, early January 2008. Toshiba G710 will be candybar shaped handset with QWERTY keyboard. By the years end we will also have it’s GPS equipped successor – Toshiba Portege G720.

And finally, early next year Toshiba will have a Portege G450, which is dubbed as “USB Modem Phone”. But I have no idea what that one may look like.

It’s Toshiba Portege G910 & Portege G920 flip smartphones, that turned up on FCC site late Friday.

There’s pretty limited information available about Toshiba G910 & G920 models for now. And from what can be seen, it looks like both of them are the  same handset with the same specs.

As you can see from the pictures Toshiba G920 & 910 are made in flip phone form factor similar to Nokia E90 Communicator.

Known Portege G920 &G910 specs will include GSM 900/1800/1900, WCDMA, Bluetooth, WLAN , USB 2.0 connectivity, main camera (at least 2 mpx) with flash, front camera for video calls, 3″ display, 1320 mAh Li-ion battery, microSD memory card slot.

The icons around the screen  seems to indicate some touch functionality, so the touchscreen is also not ruled out. There also be some click wheel navigation, call answering buttons and small display for caller id on the front of G920/G910 handset.
